Chapter 1 - Lex and Alex?Or Alex and Lex?

Alex opened his eyes with no memory of falling asleep. Confusion filled his very being as he looked up at the unfamiliar ceiling. Looking at his arm he realized he was wearing pajamas. He never wore pajamas; he wasn't even sure if he owned a pair.

A weight fell on his chest as he realized he wasn't alone in the bed. A hand had taken its place on the center of his chest. Looking over, he saw her; her skin was olive-toned, and he could instantly tell she was beautiful. She looked familiar but he couldn't remember why.

Grabbing her hand, he gently placed it on the bed before climbing out of it. The bed was huge, as was the room. Walking to one of the doors, he opened it, peeking inside. This door was the bathroom meaning the other one most likely led to the rest of the place.

Stepping into the bathroom he walked over to the mirror. He quickly turned the water on making sure to splash his face. Reaching towards the wall he grabbed a towel while hitting the light switch. Using the towel he dried his face, as he lowered the towel from his face shock filled his very being. He knew the face looking back at him, it wasn't his own but definitely one he was familiar with.

Suddenly, he began to feel dizzy, opting not to run outside towards the bed, he walked towards the bathtub. It was larger than any bathtub he had ever seen in his life. But that didn't matter right now. Climbing inside he laid his head back falling asleep.

Later

"Lex!" Feeling himself being shaken Lex opened his eyes confused, something had gone horribly wrong. How had he gotten into the bathtub? He rubbed his forehead as it hit him, this Alex figure had taken over his body, like Zod had done so weeks before but Lex had wrestled back control. Now all of his memories were Lex's.

"Lex, are you okay?"

"I'm fine Lana, I was feeling a bit dizzy and didn't want to wake you." Alex or Lex now looked up at Lana Lang with half a smile on his face. There was something off about Lana being here, something Alex's memories were screaming at him to figure out.

"So you fall asleep in the bathtub," Lana asked with a hint of amusement in her voice.

"I guess I could have chosen a better place," Lex said smiling. Standing from the tub he looked at Lana.

"You take this bathroom, I'll head to one of the guest rooms."

"I'll meet you at the table for breakfast," Lex heard Lana say as he reached the door. Lex reentered the bedroom and only now did he realize how foolish he was. He had gone overboard lately, buying Lana anything he could, trying to show her the kind of life she'd have as his girlfriend. There was no need to impress Lana, they lived in a castl,e what could possibly be more impressive? No, he had to figure out how to keep the girl.

He wouldn't do what he had originally planned, making Lana think she's pregnant. That would make their relationship built on lies, and why had Lana run to Lex in the first place? Because of Clark's lies, he would be a fool to fall into that trap. Yes Clark's lies, there was more though, Clark wasn't who he thought he was. All of it was coming to him slowly, everything he had missed before through Alex's memories became clearer.

Ultimately he had to decide if being with Lana was worth it. She was no doubt still in love with Clark, but did she love Lex? Maybe, but the moment she realized that it was Clark who had been constantly saving her life, she'd leave Lex. Maybe breaking things off with her was the best option.

Shaking his head he reached into one of his drawers. Grabbing some clothes and a robe he quickly exited the room. Alex had no recollection of the castle in his memories; he had seen certain rooms, but he'd never walked it himself, which meant his memories weren't perfect. He wouldn't be able to trust them implicitly.

Turning into one of the guest rooms he quickly entered the bathroom. Setting his clothes to the side he reached into a cabinet grabbing towels. Throwing them next to his clothes he stopped as he noticed himself in the mirror.

"I've been bald since I was nine. Im used to people judging me before they know me. " For some reason those words popped into his head as he looked at himself in the mirror. It was Alex's first impression of him, yet it was something Lex had forgotten. Somewhere along the line Lex had become the very monster some people saw him as. Sighing to himself he knew things would be different from now on.
