Chapter 58 - Chapter 58 - Rain That Brings Surprises

After hurling the book away, Noah punched one of the nearby trees and shouted:

  — Why the hell is there nothing written on that crap?!

As he pulled his arm free from the trunk, he grumbled:

  — Shouldn't there be at least some drawings on the pages? Why the fuck is there nothing?!

When he finally managed to free his arm from the trunk, he shook it angrily, and as he turned to the system, he heard the crash of a huge tree falling behind him.

[And who said there wasn't any?]

Pointing in the direction where he had thrown the book, Noah retorted:

  — No way! I looked there! And there wasn't anything written on that trash!

[But just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there]

"What the fuck are you trying to tell me? How am I supposed to train with this shit if I can't see what's written on it?!"

[This might be a problem. But with the SYSTEM's ANALYSIS ability, it would be easily resolved]

[...Not to mention, you just needed to enhance your vision with a bit of Qi...]

Noah smiled sarcastically:

— Great, how wonderful.

He slowly turned around and continued,

  — But why didn't you say that before? Now I'm gonna have to search for that useless book all over this place.

He paused for a moment, and thinking it was worth a try, he asked:

  — ...Isn't it possible to disable that behavior of yours?

[What do you think the answer is...?]

"Fuck...!"

With that, Noah sighed, gazed at the blue sky over the trees for a moment, and began to walk slowly in the direction where he had thrown the book. But as he moved away, he noticed something curious:

At the spot where he had punched, the trunk was burnt on the inside—even if the area was small—as if it had been scorched from the inside out. Following the trail of the blow, there were still warm holes in several trees lined up in a large, straight area.

'That... was done by me...?'

Noah spent hours rummaging through the woods—through high grass, big and small trees—yet the book seemed to be hiding increasingly well.

Exhausted from searching, he sat down in the short grass, leaned against a large tree, and sighed while staring at the sky with heavy eyes. Gradually, his thoughts gathered, and amidst his daydreams, a trance overcame him. It was strange—the anger he had felt didn't seem proportional to the situation he was in, so he decided to stop, gather his thoughts, and calm down.

Time passed. The bright blue sky gave way to a heavy gray, streaked with lightning. Under a huge tree, sheltered by leaves and branches, Noah felt only the first drop of rain after a long time. Still asleep, he wiped his forehead without fully waking.

Soon another drop came—he wiped it away without even noticing. Then another fell on the left side of his face, then on the right; before he could wipe them all, one hit his nose and soon the rain began pouring down.

When he finally woke up with the rain slapping his face, Noah muttered:

  — I wish there was a martial art that brought good luck... How the hell can it rain so damn much, though... Fuck…!
