Throughout the empire, factories began to adopt the Kesari Steam engines, and the mechanisation of production had commenced. The black smoke of exhaust began to appear for the first time, darkening the beautiful, clear skies of the Bharatiya Empire, symbolising ominousness as well as prosperity.
The factories which first adopted the steam engine were all located on the various river banks of the southern part of the Empire, like Godavari, Kaveri, Thapi, Mahanadi, Krishna, and Narmada. There were factories that adopted the steam engine located in places not near any water bodies, but they were rare.
