Howard Geoffrey frowned slightly. "Did your father tell you everything?"
Rebecca Quentin took a deep breath and replied, "Yes, I knew from the beginning... I'm just a substitute."
"A substitute?"
Not noticing the confusion in Howard Geoffrey's voice, Rebecca Quentin lowered her head and murmured, "You helped my father, and I stayed with you. It was a fair deal."
At this, Howard Geoffrey sneered. It seemed Alexander Quentin hadn't told his daughter the truth. Well, no matter. She didn't need to know the real deal.
Rebecca Quentin asked, displeased, "What are you laughing at?"
"Nothing. I was just thinking that your father didn't live his life in vain; he never forgot to scheme, even up to his death."
Rebecca Quentin suppressed her anger. "My father just passed away. I hope you can be more respectful."
Howard Geoffrey maintained a leisurely smile and said lightly, "Alright, let's get down to business."
Rebecca Quentin didn't respond.
