Chapter 3 - Welcome to Hell - *Rewritten*

DXD FF Chap 3: Rewrite

"You can refer to me as Samael," the voice said.

Tenshi asked while nodding his head "Alright, Mr. Samael. Please let me know where I am."

After a brief pause, the voice—now addressed as Samael said, "Hell"

"The hell?" Tenshi said, seeming perplexed.

Samael responded, "Yes, Hell."

Tenshi repeated while shaking his head "No, I meant, 'What the hell'… Never mind, so where am I?"

"THE HELL, BOY!" Samael spoke, but there was some displeasure and irritation in his voice this time.

"H-how?" Tenshi asked, believing that he had died and entered hell.

Samael said, "Interestingly, it was because of me."

When Tenshi heard Samael, he became enraged and asked, "So you killed me?"

"Grrr… Dear father! I wish I could just torture you. No, you moron, I was awakened by you and generated a massive, and powerful storm which formed a rift for Hell."

When Tenshi learned he was responsible for Elina's passing, it hit him like a truck.

Tenshi began crying and sobbing as he reminisced about his time with Elina while she raised him as a mother.

Samael said jestingly, "Great, I got a crybaby."

When Tenshi heard Samael, he became enraged and yelled, "SHUT UP!"

"Listen up, boy... sigh… I can't believe I am saying this. I'm sorry. I occasionally overlook how primitive mortals are." Samael said.

Tenshi was perplexed because Samael had both apologized and made fun of his entire species.

"I'm fine... I'm not a wimp, *Hic* please understand. I haven't cried like this in a long time "Tenshi stated while wiping his eyes.

Samael mused, "Yeah, I think it's been four years since the loss of your mother."

Samael's disclosure of this information to Tenshi surprised him. But he remained silent because he believed a powerful object that was inside him could be able to read his memories.

'Yes, I can... We need to focus on how you can manage your thoughts, as I am not keen on hearing them.' Samael said telepathically.

"I see… How did you get rid of that thing?" Tenshi spoke because he thought speaking out would be more comfortable in this circumstance.

Samael only responded "Well… I took no action. All you did was ask for something strong to help you, and in exchange, you unintentionally unleashed your Holy power, which is lethal to demons."

Tenshi continued to nod. He also wasn't a moron. He noted numerous crucial terms, like "Holy" and "Demons."

"What are you then? If you don't mind me asking, are you an angel." Tenshi questioned, thinking that Samael might be an angel of some sort.

"I haven't been called an angel in a very long time, haha... So you're free to believe that I am an angel." Samael laughed when he heard Tenshi refer to him as an angel.

Tenshi was initially skeptical but quickly nodded because he felt helpless in this position.

"Can you please explain how I can escape Hell?" Tenshi re-asked with anticipation.

"Well, you cannot," Samael's response shattered Tenshi's hopes.

As the uncertainty, dread, and desperation creeped up on him, Tenshi moaned and slumped.

"Why do you know all this information? You didn't tell me why you were inside of me or why I had all those things." Then, without realizing it, Tenshi began asking Samael lots of questions.

"QUIET!" Tenshi was silenced by Samael's command in an imposing voice.

Samael then replied, "Tell me boy, why should I respond to your questions?"

"Be-..." Tenshi was unable to respond as Samael's question made the words stuck to his throat.

'Why does he have to respond to me? I'm not even sure if he is who he claims to be.' Tenshi pondered whether he had the right to pose his questions as he considered the possibility that he might simply be the Devil appearing to him as an angel.

"I see you got your answer. I can answer this question as you impressed me by unwittingly summoning your power. The reason why there is no exit is because it was sealed. Whether or not there is a way is your predicament… You want more answers? PROVE TO ME BOY!"

When Tenshi heard Samael's response, he remained silent. He was fortunate enough to learn something from Samael. He only needs to figure out the problem on his own or find a way to make Samael like him more in order to get more of his questions answered.

"Ask me nothing unless you can convince me otherwise. You are nothing more than a boy who was endowed with MY ability at birth. You are neither a protagonist nor a hero. Until you can convince me otherwise, you are just a "boy," a fodder. Just so you know, the use of the Holy power was an absolute fluke; thus, don't anticipate any further miracles." Samael's voice disappeared after finishing his speech, which caused the robotic glove to vanish simultaneously.

Tenshi leaned back against the wall and groaned. He noticed a pile of ashes and some burning wood that were illuminating the area.

"Hiss…" Tenshi hissed as he began removing the creature's teeth fragments from his sliced hand. He suddenly became aware of a sizable fang the size of his middle finger. He extracted the tooth while gritting his teeth, which led to additional bloody gushing.

Whether Tenshi is done properly is of little concern to him. He is just concerned with preventing any infection that these teeth might cause.

In the hopes that his superhuman body would heal him, Tenshi tore a piece of cloth from his shirt and wrapped it around his shoulder to stop the bleeding in his right arm.

Unfortunately, or luckily, he has never had an injury this serious, so he is unsure whether or not his special body can mend it.

"I need more wood," Tenshi said to himself, as he observed that the burning wood was almost completely put out. If this fire goes out, he won't be as likely to survive because he can't start a fire again.

He picked several sticks and broken branches after taking a look around. He also found a nest with six enormous eggs in it.

Tenshi swallowed as he took a closer look at the eggs; finding them was both fortunate and disturbing. He has food now, but the eggs can hatch and attack him later.

Tenshi trembled as he shivered from the cold and the thought of what creatures would spawn in the water.

'Why didn't I catch this sooner, I wonder.' Tenshi wondered why he hadn't felt like he was walking on water when he first entered the cave. He quickly curtailed his idea, though, as he suspected it might be related to his newly discovered numbness in his legs.

"Are these eggs from a marine animal?" Tenshi inquired as his hand inadvertently reached for his addiction in his pocket.

Finding no cigarettes in his pockets, Tenshi stated aloud, "Oh yeah."

He did, however, discover his second walkie-talkie/emergency phone.

"Bless Nokia!" Tenshi said as he studied his second phone, which was functioning properly. But sadly, it was neither a touch screen nor it had a cellular network.

He put the phone back in his pockets, got some sticks, and located a dry area. He then started building a fire using still-hot wood.

He began using the method he had seen in movies to increase the fire by puffing his chest. Fortunately, it worked, and smoke began to form as all the wood gathered around it and heated.

"I have some food, drink, and provided I don't freeze at night from being wet all the time in this temporary shelter." Declared Tenshi aloud.

Tenshi kindled a small campfire-sized fire there, just barely above the surface of the water.

When Tenshi looked closer, he saw that the water was almost up to his knees and that it was now up to his feet as he moved deeper into the cave.

"Where is the source of this water?" Tenshi examined his surroundings and realized there was no water source there. He was racking his brains, trying to decide if he should take a chance and stay in this cave to sleep or move on and find a new location to live.

Tenshi is scared that he might drown or that other animals might enter the cave through an additional opening.

'They were Leviathan's boy,' When Samael remarked, his regrettable but stupid concerns vanished.

'Leviathans???' Tenshi inquired because he was unaware of the species. Though he feared everything in Hell, the name "Leviathan" undoubtedly intimidated him.

Tenshi concluded that since Samael had not responded, the Leviathan species lived underwater and that the mother Leviathan had found a means to bring water into the cave for its young.

Tenshi sighed as he was at a loss for what to do. He's anxious since he's trapped in Hell with no route out and no means of aid.

"Maou-sama… We discovered a clue regarding the devastating power attack" A busty, white-haired woman wearing a maid uniform stated.

As he cast a worried glance at the maid, a red-haired man in golden robes asked "I see, and how is Rias feeling?"

"We learned that Tenshi Hoshiko was the person she connected with "The maid gave a professional response.

"Who is he?" Maou said as he fixed his gaze on the maid's eyes.

"He attends XXX in Massachusetts, the United States, as a student. Then he received an invitation to Kuoh Academy" the maid answered.

This time, the man's tone was harsh as he inquired, "Why did I not hear anything about him?"

When Grayfia didn't respond, the man in the robes abruptly unleashed a powerful demonic power that made the ground tremble and the structure shake.

"Grayfia, what are you trying to keep from me? Answer me! My Queen" Grayfia felt the pressure of his magic as the man ordered.
