As Spade's voice echoed in all directions within the thick mist, the dozens of figures began to transform, and the fog affected the surrounding environment.
"Boom!"
The ground trembled as magma pillars erupted from the earth, releasing terrifying power. Anything touched by the lava melted instantly. A golden sun appeared in the sky, its rays making the area unbearably hot. The ground became covered in yellow sand from an unknown source.
Strangely, on Kaido's side, a winding ice river appeared, the sky filled with dark clouds, lightning flashing, strong winds howling, and heavy rain pouring down.
On one side, it was scorching hot with magma eruptions; on the other, it was cold and rainy.
The transforming figures became clearer: Half were charred skeletons with glowing red eyes, and the other half were white skeletons with burning blue eyes. Their attire and characteristics made their identities clear…
They were once Kaido's subordinates: Jack the Drought, Queen the Plague, and King the Wildfire. The Pengele Family's strongest warriors had killed them.
CP0's Zenon, Tengu, and Hunger Demon were also among them, as were members of the Big Mom Pirates like Cracker and Katakuri…
All had fallen at the hands of the Pengele Family and now appeared as skeletons. Charred skeletons stood on the yellow sand, born from the erupting magma, while white skeletons emerged from the ice river, exuding a terrifying chill. Each skeleton had a formidable aura, almost identical to when they were alive.
"Kaido!"
"Kaido!"
The skeletons eerily called out Kaido's name and rushed toward him. This scene was terrifying. What unfolded in the Land of Wano was far more horrifying than Moria's zombie army, especially since these skeletons were once mighty sea warriors, including someone like Zenon.
Zenon, emerging from the ice river as a skeleton, had hands burning with extreme cold flames, reminiscent of his Ice-Ice Fruit abilities.
"Is this really just an illusion? How does D. Spade possess such powerful abilities?" Axe was filled with shock, staring at the unfolding scene.
He was sure everything before him was an illusion since Spade couldn't resurrect the dead or create magma and ice. However, the illusion was so real that he could almost feel Zenon's presence, believing it was him if not for the skeletal appearance.
"Humph, humph. Are you pleased to see your former subordinates, Kaido?" Spade chuckled coldly, his voice echoing through the area: "This place is a special hell crafted just for you, filled with the fallen who were defeated by the Pengele Family. Enjoy their company in this infernal torment!"
Spade's voice was everywhere, but his form was nowhere to be found, or perhaps he had turned into one of the skeletons.
Finding a top-tier illusionist who wants to hide is no easy task.
This "Inferno of Unending Torment" was one of Spade's most advanced illusions, created over the years as a massive-scale technique intended initially for army-sized opponents. As long as he had enough mental energy, he could trap tens of thousands in this illusion and eradicate them.
Kaido was the first to experience it.
This illusion was constructed using various types of Dying Will Flames. The blazing sun in the sky was made from the Sky Flame's Sun attribute, and the stormy clouds from the Cloud, Lightning, and Rain attributes, respectively. The erupting magma was from the Earth Flame's Volcano attribute, the yellow sand from the Desert attribute, and the sandstorm from the Sky Flame's Storm attribute. The ice river was from the Earth Flame's Glacier attribute.
The numerous skeletons combined the Sky Flame's Mist and the Earth Flame's Grassland, using mist to create illusions and grassland to propagate them.
With such a variety of Dying Will Flames and Spade's exceptional illusion skills, each skeleton was still formidable, though not as powerful as when they were alive.
Facing an onslaught from so many skeletons, even someone with Kaido's life force would be hard-pressed to handle it.
Spade, meanwhile, wasn't focusing on Kaido anymore, letting him deal with the army of skeletons.
"Enjoying the show? Although Kaido makes me quite uncomfortable, you're the ones who instigated this whole affair, right? World Government's CP0 officers."
A dense mist formed Spade's figure in front of Axe. His cold, gleaming eyes locked onto Axe: "The fate of Zenon and the others didn't seem to be enough of a warning for you."
"Warning? Heh, what nonsense are you spouting, Spade? We are part of the World Government's elite, and there's no place we can't go. The Pengele Family is nothing more than an obstacle."
Despite feeling the intense danger, Axe's spirit remained unyielding. If a fight was inevitable, he doubted Spade could easily defeat him. Was he handling both Kaido and himself simultaneously? That was a joke.
