Just as Enel stepped forward, he paused. A strange ripple passed through the air.
His senses screamed.
Something descended.
Something dangerous.
It was familiar, oddly so—like a dream he had long forgotten. No, it was deeper than that. Something within him resonated with it, but it felt like it had not riped, or better still, transformed.
Then again, buried beneath that familiarity was raw threat. It slashed into reality like a rift.
Allison felt threatened too.
Her instincts reacted before her mind could.
Shhhhhk!
Her claws burst from her hands just in time to intercept a blade the size of a car, falling from above like judgment.
BOOM.
The impact shattered the crystalline bridge beneath her, hurling her into the ground. A crater spread from the point of impact, laced with flickers of golden and prismatic energy. Her back arched with pain, but she was already rising—fangs bared, claws dripping with traces of cosmic energy.
She looked up at the one who had struck her.
