Grey just sighed
"look i am going to the hills of endless mist for a deal with the Demi god there. And as long I follow through he promised a few things to me one of them being so land for friends and family under his protection if you want you can stay as long as you want?"
Jade just stared at him confused "but you barley know me and I'm a sssnake, we are known for being cold blooded and ruthless. Why would you put your family at risk for me even knowing that I might have a few enemies."
Grey just shrugged his shoulders "I don't know I just have a good feeling about you for some reason. And I know better than any to not judge a beast by their species."
"It's getting pretty late, when I came in I could see the sun was setting through the storm and I'm pretty sure almost everything in this cave is nocturnal let's try to get out as soon as possible." He said while walking away.
Jade watched the rabbit moving through the dark caves as if he could see so she just quietly followed the humming rabbit.
They had only been traveling around four hours but she noticed many strange things about this rabbit.
He seemed to trust both her and his almost insane instincts. She had seen him creatures in the ground before they popped out and almost never came to a dead end as if he had traveled here before.
And although see was a higher tier beast with dual elements he seemed to spot enemies before she even realized they were there and avoided their senses perfectly.
"I know this might be rude but what exactly is your rune I can tell mine first if you want." Jade said with bit of smugness at the end.
But grey giggling at her "You do know when we first meet you came out of nowhere and only a few elements can do that plus the green lighting I have seen before so I can guess you have both Shadow and thunder runes. It's a pretty good combo of versatility and survival but I'm sure it not very good for head on fights."
Jades glowing eyes flickered in surprise "how did you know, you can't even see in the dark so shadows should be invisible to you and not many know of thunder and assume it to be lightning."
"I was always told there was a high chance a lazy rabbit like me would never awaken a rune so while I was unawakened I got into a lot of trouble and even more fights I have pretty good knowledge on most runes after getting it beat into me but I survived and used what I learned for revenge." He said with sadness in his eyes only she could see in the empty caves.
"But I don't mind sharing my rune with you it's the sound rune which boost my scouting skills and boost my hearing greatly."
She was very surprised "isn't sound one of the most self destructive abilities in the one can get. It is similar to thunder except not as controlled it's more like explosive burst that destroys everything!"
"Yeah I almost lost my throat and hearing the first time I used it but probably due to my friends luck I gained some things that helped me control so I'm not as hurt after each use."
Jade was now extremely worried he might be killing himself slowly to escape this cave.
"Your are using your ears to track sounds to follow aren't you, please be careful i have heard the sound users can explode if they use to much power."
Grey stopped in his tracks hearing that he could explode "hmm… I suppose we find a place to rest for the night and continue tomorrow"
He let out a loud hum and then turned around quickly climbing along a wall like a pro while Jade just followed in silence.
They soon arrived at a small little opening along the ceiling the lead to a decently sized cave about two meters big.
"We can rest here for the night and move on tomorrow we are close I can feel it." He said confidently
Jade just agreed and coiled up into a bundle to fall asleep
Grey on the other hand wasn't used to sleeping on cold and rough stone. Since he left home he's only slept on the soft grass and dirt but here everything was rigid and uncomfortable.
Grey was pretty tired so with his last brain cells he came up with a ingenious idea.
The next second Jade was awoken by a sudden fluffy weight jumping on top her and slowly getting comfortable like she was his bed.
Jades head snapped up and just stared at grey in pure disbelief. She knew for a fact that both of them could see in the dark in some form so he definitely did it on purpose.
Grey could feel the drowsy feeling taking over and before he feel asleep "mhhmm, goodnight… beautiful?" And just passed out.
Jade was flabbergasted a prey just called it's predator beautiful and fell asleep on it, with no regard whatsoever.
"I could squeeze the life out of you while you're asleep… you're lucky your so fluffy and warm." She didn't know why but this rabbit seemed to trust her completely.
She started thinking about the past in this instant with a awkward smirk "the only other creature with this much trust and care was mother. (Sigh) it wouldn't hurt to be a with someone else after so long."
Jade soon slowly snuggled with grey and fell asleep
While grey was now resting his powers and ideas inside his dreams near the eleventh burrow a very oddly shaped shadow that looked like a deformed camel was aproching.
"Remember let me do the talking and remember don't mention the fox attacks yet we don't want to start a panic especially when help is on the way." Said the hump looking shadow riding another creature.
They were suddenly surrounded by a water dome and blades all around them.
An angry voice soon erupted along with a pair of glowing deep ocean blue eyes " What's this about not telling what the foxes are doing?"
"Oh shit, she is the last person who would listen to reason!"
" ma'am please calm down and listen to reaso—" 'gurgling'
The hump was lifted into the end by water revealing a green rabbit.
"Hush now you liar, the adults are speaking."
