Chapter 106 - Chapter 104 Silver Dragon King, Gu Yuena!

The Great Beasts, except for Bi Ji, were led away by Di Tian.

The scene shifts back to Gu Yuena.

She sat quietly, back against the glowing tree trunk, her silver hair cascading around her like a waterfall of moonlight. Her amethyst eyes widened the moment she saw him.

Her heart skipped.

She didn't understand it.

But the moment she saw that man again, something in her stirred. Her hands clenched the fabric of her dress. She didn't even realize her cheeks had turned slightly red.

He looked at Gu Yuena.

She slowly stood up. Her body trembled from the divine wound within her. The Asura God King's power still tormented her from within.

Bi Ji appeared beside her in her graceful human form, helping her stand. Her green hair fluttered slightly, and the scholarly beauty smiled gently at Rayne.

Seeing Rayne looking around with a look of nostalgia.

Gu Huoling asked, "Why are you looking around like that?"

"Hmm... I've been here for quite a few times in the past. So a bit nostalgic." Rayne said sheepishly.

Bi Ji's eyes lit up at hearing this.

"Welcome back… husband," she said softly, a faint blush on her face.

Gu Shuiying smiled lightly with a bit of jealousy, "So she remembers… I was holding on to the hope that his claim of living as God of Contracts was a bluff. Now, it seems not."

Gu Huoling chuckled, "I don't mind sharing. It's already four of us."

Gu Yuena looked confused.

"H-Husband…?"

Rayne blinked. "Bi Ji was my wife in a past life. I had reincarnated once before, without my memories or Infinity Dragon bloodline."

"You remember God of Contracts? Or should I say, God King of Contracts? Well anyway, that was me~"

Gu Yuena was stunned. Of course she remembers the God King of Contracts.

At that time, he was mingling around with the Great Beasts for quite some time.

But because she was very cautious of being discovered by Divine Realm, and the fact that she was still gravely injured.

She hid herself the whole time, not wanting to communicate with the God of Contracts.

But now... she feels a bit of regret. She regrets being so cautious.

She looked at the brightly smiling Bi Ji next to her.

Gu Yuena looked down. Her heart felt strange. Tight.

She didn't understand why.

Was it… jealousy?

But she wasn't even sure what that meant.

A faint crimson mark, like a sword-shaped wound, glowed faintly on her chest.

It was the lingering will of Asura God King—a divine curse meant to suppress her soul and body.

Rayne stood before her, his expression rather curious.

Logically speaking, It was after Dragon God made an agreement with the God Kings — including Asura God — that he allowed himself to be cut and divided into two by the Asura Sword.

It made sense for Golden Dragon King to be sealed, since he is filled with all the negative and destructive thoughts of Dragon God.

So why was it that Silver Dragon King is seriously injured like this?

She isn't like the uncontrolled and rampaging Golden Dragon King.

Maybe, they had taken the opportunity to permanently deal away with Beast Gods?

Anyway, back to the scene.

Bi Ji stood close by, her hands glowing with soft emerald light.

"I've done everything I can. But this curse was left by a God King. No one in this world should be able to erase it…"

She looked at Rayne.

"…except you."

He nodded lightly.

Rayne walked forward and placed his hand near her chest—not touching, but feeling the wound.

"Asura God King's divine power… it's gotten much stronger over the years by feeding on your divine power. How annoying."

He frowned.

Gu Yuena's eyes widened. She didn't expect him to come so close. His presence overwhelmed her senses.

"W-What are you doing…?" she whispered, her voice softer than usual.

Rayne glanced at her. "Helping you."

His right hand glowed.

A warm light spread through her.

"Hold on," Rayne said gently.

Rayne didn't speak anymore. He gently raised a hand, and an endless silvery light began to radiate from his palm.

It wasn't just light—it was Infinity itself. It flowed like liquid space, bending time and reality around it.

"Hold still," he said softly.

Gu Yuena closed her eyes and softly — yet with a determined tone, "Do it."

"Don't be so tense. It's just the divine will of Asura God. It will be erased in a jiffy."

Somehow, Rayne's playful and confident voice put Gu Yuena at ease.

As Rayne's palm touched her back, the seal flared to life.

CRACK!

A jagged sound split the air. Crimson flames burst out from the wound, swirling violently like a trapped beast.

It screamed with the will of Asura—resisting, rejecting, and even trying to fight back.

But, no matter how it resisted, it was useless.

In front of the light of Infinity, it had no choice to be purified of his divine nature and turn into pure divine power.

Rayne didn't absorb this power for himself, since most of it is actually Silver Dragon King's original power.

He just infused the purified divine power back into Gu Yuena.

Gu Yuena bit her lip. Her vision spun. But then, warmth replaced the pain. She felt it. The foreign divine energy—the source of her suffering—was fading.

Strength filled her.

Her vision cleared just enough to see his face up close.

He was still the same.

Just like that day.

That arrogant, injured dragon who stood before the gods and saved her life.

She didn't understand the feeling that bloomed in her heart.

But as she looked into his bright vibrant blue eyes…

She smiled softly.

"…Thank you, Ouroboros. No... Rayne."

He paused for a moment.

Then he smiled back with a cheeky grin.

"…You're welcome, Silver Dragon King. No... Gu Yuena."

...

The sacred land of the soul beasts had fallen into a rare silence.

Rayne sat calmly on a rock near the Lake of Life, his short wavy white hair shining under the gentle light of the emerald tree.

His two wives, Gu Shuiying and Gu Huoling, were standing nearby, talking quietly with Bi Ji.

Gu Yuena, after being treated, rested under the tree. She felt lighter. For the first time in a long time, the divine pain in her body was gone.

She looked across the lake.

Rayne.

He wasn't like the others.

He didn't demand things. He didn't act like a king or a ruler… and yet, everyone still listened to him. Even Di Tian, who bowed to no one, stood quietly by his side.

She didn't understand him.

He was so much different from the Dragon God and Nine Dragon Kings in her memory. Even though, he is also a dragon, just like her and others.

But that strange warmth in her chest hadn't faded.

It was dangerous.

And comforting.

...

Beneath the moonlit canopy of the ancient forest, the Great Beasts of Great Star Dou Forest gathered atop a wide stone terrace near the Lake of Life.

Gu Yuena still rested, but news of the curse being dispelled had already spread through the hidden realm.

One by one, they came—Di Tian, Xiong Jun, Zi Ji, Three-Headed Hell Fire Mastiff, Ten Thousand Demon Tree King, and Bi Ji—all standing in a semicircle before Rayne, who stood with his hands behind his back, expression calm yet distant.

The silence was heavy.

Di Tian stood in front of Rayne. His golden eyes were still serious, though less tense than before.

"You're not here just for a visit, are you?"

Rayne smirked. "You're sharp as always, Di Tian."

"I've always been loyal to the Dragon God. But if you give the command, I'll follow you instead."

Rayne looked at the lake, eyes thoughtful.

"I didn't come here to lead. I came to protect what still remains."

Di Tian nodded.

"…Then let me say this." He raised his voice, so the other Great Beasts could hear.

"From this moment, Rayne, Ouroboros, the Dragon of Infinity, is once again recognized as the protector of all soul beasts."

Xiong Jun growled from the shadows but didn't object.

Zi Ji smirked. "Hmph. I've never seen Di Tian bow to someone twice in one day."

The Hell Fire Mastiff wagged his tail.

Ten Thousand Demon Tree King's deep voice echoed, "A being of balance. Not of domination. He is… worthy."

Rayne didn't respond.

Di Tian knelt.

The others blinked—but didn't hesitate.

Even Xiong Jun, with all his pride and hatred toward humans, growled and dropped to one knee. His respect wasn't for Rayne the human—but for the being he was.

"We greet the Eternal Lord of Infinity."

Their voices echoed like thunder across the forest.

Even the ancient Ten Thousand Demon Tree King lowered its branches in a bow.

Rayne's eyes narrowed slightly, almost annoyed.

"I never asked for titles."

Di Tian looked up calmly.

"And yet, you've earned them. You may not desire to rule… but your presence alone brings order."

"It brings us hope."

Zi Ji, standing at the edge, smiled seductively.

"A true dragon doesn't need a crown. The heavens bow of their own will."

The Three-Headed Mastiff barked in unison.

"You are our king, whether you accept it or not."

Rayne sighed.

He groaned deep within his heart — secretly.

He finally remembered why he had delayed meeting these people — these Great Beasts — all this time.

It's because...

These guys are too much of a Glazer.

Unlike the complicated minds of humans, the mindset of an intelligent soul beast is actually quite simplistic.

The most evident trait is their utmost respect towards those with the strongest strength and bloodline.

Back then, there were a bunch of high level soul beasts and divine beast glazers, who had went as far as composing a poem praising him.

They had even spread it to so many of the subordinate realms of Douluo Divine Realm.

He still feels embarrassed just thinking about it.

Coming back to his senses.

He looked toward the still waters of the lake—where Gu Yuena rested.

Where both Gu Huoling and Gu Shuiying stood still, looking at him with silent expectation.

"Good grief. It's always the same. Whether I accept it or not, you soul beasts insist on calling me King or Lord."

"Very well. I'll be your king temporarily. At least until I am sure that soul beast race can manage itself."

Hearing these quiet words, the Great Beasts cheered loudly, with joy evident in their faces.

Bi Ji looked at Rayne with a bright smile on her face.

Seeing this, Rayne didn't feel annoyed anymore. His gaze softened and smiled gently.

...

That Night.

The hidden realm was quiet. Glowing blue flowers swayed in the gentle breeze. Light spirit energy floated through the air.

Rayne sat under the tree, leaning back. His vibrant blue eyes looking at the reflection of the night sky full of stars — reflected by the still water of Lake of Life.

Gu Yuena slowly approached, a bit hesitant. Her silver-white hair flowed gently behind her.

"Can I sit here?" she asked, voice soft.

Rayne nodded.

She sat beside him, hugging her knees to her chest.

"…I still don't know who I really am," she said, gazing at the lake.

"You're Silver Dragon King. You're Gu Yuena. It's as simple as that." Rayne said calmly.

"But I'm also… part of Dragon God. I wasn't born naturally. I was made after his death. Does that mean I'm only half a person?"

Rayne glanced at her.

"Don't get hung up by something so stupid. Even if you and the sealed Golden Dragon King fuse together again, what will happen?" He asked casually.

"... Dragon God will be revived?" Gu Yuena said hesitantly.

"You're half correct. The body body of Dragon God will be resurrected. But what about the soul?"

"...One of me or Golden Dragon King will be the soul?" She guessed in a low tone.

"That's right. So, are you really just a half of Dragon God, when the fusion of the supposed two halves cannot fully bring him back?"

"Whether it is you or that Golden Dragon King... Both of you are definitely independent life forms. My eyes can confirm that."

"Even if you were born from a shattered god, even if you were born from the remnant divine power and bloodline of Dragon God..."

"You're still you. A living being, a beautiful girl with her own will and feelings. That's enough."

She looked at him, stunned by the simplicity of his words.

Then, she smiled faintly.

"You really haven't changed."

Rayne chuckled. "I think I've mellowed a bit."

They both laughed softly.

A moment of peace passed between them.

"…Why did you help me?" she asked, voice quiet.

"Because I could."

"That's all?"

Rayne looked up at the stars above.

"I don't like seeing people I once saved fall."

She looked down again.

But her heart was pounding.

Her fingers curled into the grass.

She didn't understand it, but…

She wanted to stay by his side longer.
