It was like tumbling into the void.
The darkness wrapped around his every senses like a robe, one made of the purest night.
He couldn't scream. He couldn't hold on to anything. There was nothing. He simply kept falling.
His nerves tingled with a sudden flourish of mana spark. Almost immediately, his feet landed squarely on solid ground.
Xavier gasped as he looked around.
His surrounding was not unfamiliar. In fact, up until his registration as a Mystic, it had been the only world he knew.
"I'm home?"
He posed the question to the world in general because there wasn't a soul around to hear him.
The street of Ferling City looked the same as how it left it. It felt like only a minute ago when he'd said goodbye to his aunt and cousins right here on this front yard.
The only tiny difference was the absence of people.
And life in general.
Birds didn't fly overhead. Pet dogs and cats didn't chatter from balconies. A picturesque ghost town.
"I don't understand."
