"Sister. Though the star has been extinguished and its light blotted out from the universe why is my light still shining upon this world? Why is your light the only one who has been vanquished?"
Sekito's hand grabbed onto one of the branches hanging over her and pulled her body up from the moss. She wanted nothing to do with the world anymore and even severed her fate with her Aeon. She had sacrificed everything for the sake of being with Devina yet her feet were still on the soil of this world.
Though she had betrayed the Aeons and defied the gods she was still alive. After such blasphemy, her soul was still forgiven by Ixyli? But that didn't matter for Sekito at all, forgiveness from others meant nothing, the only thing that mattered was getting to see her sister again.
The Aeon of Serenity blossomed on her cheek. She manifested chains and tied them around a tree. The iron chains of Serenity which were impossible to break were now tightly wrapped around her neck.
As she was about to tighten the chains and hang herself she heard the panting of two little girls and the sound of wet mud being trampled on. Looking across the forest she saw Marlowlia and a similar-looking girl next to her.
Fiviana threw her eyes upon Sekito and started to run towards her. It felt like their faces were getting blurry for Sekito. It was like she was unable to see their faces anymore.
Fiviana put her sister behind the boulder and threw herself behind it as well. Soldiers in the masses followed up and spotted Sekito and Marlowlia.
Still with chains around her neck, Sekito stared at the soldiers with a soulless mind. They were all faceless. Not a single one had eyes.
The chains untied themselves from the tree and Sekito took a step towards the soldiers.
One of them saw the flower on her face and panicked.
"IT'S AN AEON! SHOOT!"
A bullet pierced Sekito's palm but the pain didn't matter to her. The pain of a bullet meant nothing compared to the torture of not having her sister in this world anymore.
She looked at her hand and saw blood dripping from it.
Sekito continued towards the soldiers even though it was raining bullets on her. The chains of Serenity continued to deflect all the bullets directed at her as she approached. She then put the soldier's gun towards her heart.
"Right here. Pull."
The soldier pulled the trigger just for his gun to malfunction. No, he hadn't even lifted his finger because his soul had been extinguished. The Aeon of Serenity had automatically granted him peace and freedom.
Seeing this all the soldiers scrambled for their lives as they saw one of their comrades fall without Sekito doing anything.
"I just want to see her again... TAKE ME BACK TO HER!" Sekito started to have a mental breakdown, tearing out her hair and scratching away her delicate skin.
Fiviana peeked out from behind the boulder and saw Sekito approach the gun next to the soldier's corpse.
She took up the gun the soldier had dropped and pointed it point blank against her chest but the second she even had the thought of pulling the trigger, the chains slapped it away from her hands and smashed the gun into bits.
Sekito fell to her knees, her soul had become despondent and her eyes were filled with grief. Marlowlia was unconscious and Fiviana was too exhausted to even move. She could just see Sekito sitting there on her knees staring up into the raining sky before falling unconscious.
"My responsibility," Sekito muttered to herself.
"Screw my responsibility…" She looked over at the dying sisters who were on the brink of death and felt how the Aeon inside of her resonated with them.
"No… I don't want to be the Aeon of Serenity anymore! GET OUT. GET OUT. GET OUT IXYLI! LET ME SEE MY SISTER AGAIN."
She slammed her fists into the mud in frustration until she couldn't feel her hands anymore. Finally, she stood up and walked over towards Fiviana and pulled her head up by her hair.
"Sister…" Where are you?
It was a blank face and she couldn't tell if it was Devina or not. But it didn't feel right, it wasn't her sister even so she started to hug the unconscious Fiviana and cried out Devina's name with tears streaming down her eyes.
She took out one of Devina's old gadgets from her bag. Though it was her Aeon that powered some of these gadgets, some of them still worked. She showed Fiviana it.
"Look, this is what you showed me when you were little! A machine that lets you transfer objects to places you have been to before! Don't you remember this toy you made for me?"
Sekito clicked on some of the buttons and teleported Marlowlia and Fiviana to her shrine up in the mountains.
She set both of them under the giant tree. Sekito's eyes narrowed as she saw the amount of blood both of them had lost. She poured the tree's nectar onto their wounds and their wounds started to close up.
Exhausted Sekito lay down on her bench. She couldn't convince herself that Devina was gone. Yes! Devina was just playing one of those hide-and-seek games with her again.
With those thoughts, Sekito rolled off her bench in agony as her stomach vomited up everything. She felt how the Aeon inside her was rejecting everything she stood for.
Their conflicting feelings tore Sekito's body apart. Pain rippled across her body as Ixyli tried as hard as possible to stay in Sekito's body to prevent her from dying.
Every second was excruciating as Sekito was seconds from death just to be pulled back to life. She felt how her insides were ravaged and how her mind started to break.
She grappled onto the flask containing the giant tree's nectar and drank it all in one gulp. The pain subsided for a moment as her body healed. But the moment she thought the pain would be gone the pain came back as thoughts of her sister played in her head.
Ixyli tried everything she could to hold onto Sekito's life. She knew how much she was suffering because of her but she didn't give up on Sekito.
After some gruelling minutes of torture, Sekito's brain went numb from all the shock and pain and she went into a coma.
She lay there in the middle of her shrine with the bottle of nectar right next to her.
