Not until all his teammates had died, leaving him alone, did Bert continue to believe that the reason for their boss' annihilation was an ambush by another organization, who were also responsible for killing the teammates in the off-road vehicle.
So when the dust settled and he saw only Luo An holding an AK rifle, Bert still couldn't help looking back and around, shouting loudly:
"Where are the others? Let them come out!"
"There are no others."
Luo An, holding the AK, slowly moved forward, a cold smirk on his face:
"Give you a chance, put down your weapon."
"Impossible!"
Bert still refused to believe Luo An's words. He kept observing his surroundings, fully alert for possible enemies from behind or any other direction, while holding a pistol tightly against Caroline's temple, yelling fiercely:
"Don't try to deceive me, I'll say it one last time, let those people come out, or I will shoot!"
