Feeling ashamed of retreating in fear and provoked by Calvin's mocking tone, Orga could no longer contain his rage. He gathered a black lightning ball and unleashed it with a roar, forming a thin beam aimed directly at Calvin.
"120mm Black Thunder Cannon!"
Though this move wasn't as powerful as his previous attack, it was much faster. If Calvin was caught off guard, it could potentially injure him. While the attack wasn't as strong as Orga's "Charged Particle Cannon," its power still registered over 3,000 on the MPF scale.
The deep blue giant surrounding Calvin was already severely damaged. Orga hoped this additional strike might break through its defenses.
However, the battered Susanoo simply raised its shield and effortlessly blocked the attack as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
"It blocked it!?" Orga gasped while Minerva's expression darkened further.
Of course, it blocked it. Orga didn't know, but that shield was one of Calvin's meticulously crafted defenses. Though it appeared ordinary, it housed the most robust defense array Calvin had ever created—his most formidable defense.
"Now it's my turn. Take this," Calvin said calmly. The ethereal flames grasped by Susanoo's hand elongated into a weapon resembling a sword and an arrow. It was nocked onto the giant's bow and shot forward.
The arrow's speed tore through the air, producing a sharp sonic boom. Orga had no time to react, but Minerva, ever vigilant, used her spatial magic to shift it away.
However, the arrow contained such a dense concentration of magic that it wasn't easy to deflect. Minerva barely managed to redirect it behind them, where it tore through several buildings, leaving all five of them shaken.
Worse yet, Calvin's Susanoo, damaged earlier, began rapidly regenerating. Within seconds, the deep blue giant was fully restored, standing tall and intimidating.
Susanoo was a form constructed entirely from magic. As long as Calvin had sufficient mana, it could repair itself and remain intact no matter how damaged it got. This made it Calvin's ultimate creation, a perfect balance of offense and defense.
"This guy is too strong. How are we supposed to beat him if he can just hide inside that turtle shell?" Even Minerva, who had never encountered such an opponent, began to feel a sense of helplessness.
At this point, Calvin hadn't even used his most famous summoning cards. Once he did, his defense would become nearly impenetrable. Minerva struggled to think of any way to break through.
Could they hope that Calvin wouldn't use his summoning cards? But he already had the cards in hand!
While Minerva was frustrated, the others realized they couldn't just stand there. They needed to continue attacking the deep blue giant. If they could damage it once, they reasoned, they might be able to break through with more effort.
However, they seemed to forget that Calvin had been caught off guard earlier. Now that he was taking them seriously, did they think they could shatter Susanoo again?
Calvin was ready for them. As the four charged, Calvin responded by summoning his true power—his summoning cards.
The Twin Dragons, Rogue, and Sting moved the fastest. They circled to where Susanoo's shield couldn't reach, opening their mouths to unleash their mighty dragon roars.
Calvin had no intention of taking hits. In response to their attack, he threw out two cards.
"If you're Dragon Slayers, then it's only fitting that you fight dragons. Honestly, you're well-matched in terms of attributes," Calvin said nonchalantly.
Rogue and Sting were momentarily confused by his words but didn't hesitate. Their light and dark roars, black and white in perfect contrast, charged toward Calvin with incredible force.
But Calvin remained calm, directing his attention to Orga and Rufus as if to say that Rogue and Sting were not worth worrying about and that two cards would suffice to handle them.
Others might think Calvin was underestimating them, but Rogue and Sting were hoping for that. The more Calvin underestimated them, the more they could take advantage.
Then, an earth-shaking dragon roar rang out. Black and white light filled the sky, engulfing everything in its path. Rogue and Sting's roars hit the light like stones cast into a pond, only causing small ripples.
Two massive creatures emerged from the black and white glow the next moment. The mighty roars of the two enormous beasts, their wings spread wide, left the entire audience watching in awe.
It was none other than Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Red-Eyes Black Dragon.
On the first day of the competition, Red Eyes had already made a brief but stunning appearance. Now, the twin dragons, one white and one black stood together, a sight so awe-inspiring that it left everyone speechless.
"Unbelievable! As expected of a Dragon Tamer, he summoned two dragons at once! Faced with these terrifying creatures, how will Sabertooth's Twin Dragons respond? What do you think, Mr. Yashima?" the excited announcer shouted.
"Dragon Slayer Magic is meant to counter dragons, so theoretically, they shouldn't lose to them. But Calvin's summoned beasts aren't real dragons. The outcome is difficult to predict," Mr. Yashima commented calmly, though his narrowed eyes gleamed with astonishment.
"I'm so pumped right now!" cheered Pumpkin Head (the King), one of the event's special guests.
Calvin's two strongest summoned creatures stood like gods before the Twin Dragons of Sabertooth.
The audience might have found the sight breathtaking. The other contestants watching from afar might have marveled at Calvin's incredible strength. But for Rogue and Sting, it was as if they were standing before real dragons, and they couldn't stop their cold sweat from pouring.
They didn't know the full extent of the dragons' power, but they could feel it—these two were far beyond their strength.
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon had been one of Calvin's first creations, modeled after his grandfather's Dragon Cards. Besides the need for a life sacrifice to summon it, the Blue Eyes were nearly identical to his grandfather's dragons. However, during his seven-year imprisonment, Calvin managed to weaken its power, making it summonable without the need for a life sacrifice.
Even so, Blue-Eyes White Dragon remained one of Calvin's most powerful cards.
"Don't panic! That white dragon is light-based, so I might be able to handle it," Sting tried to calm himself, keeping his eyes on the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
But what greeted him was a massive, metallic black claw, large enough to encompass both him and Rogue.
Red-Eyes Black Dragon had struck.
The two quickly leaped to avoid it, but just as they did, they were slammed by the smooth, brutal head of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. With no time to react, they were sent flying, crashing through several buildings.
Judging by the sheer size of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon and the force of its blow, everyone could imagine how devastating that hit must have been. The audience couldn't help but wince for Rogue and Sting.
Despite this, Calvin paid them no mind. With his soul controlling the two dragons, he could focus entirely on the other three.
