The white walls of the ICU room were still and sterile, a haunting kind of quiet that sat like a world’s weight on Henrick’s chest. The rhythm of the constant. The beeping of the heart monitor echoed every second, reminding him that she was still there, still fighting, but unreachable. Tiania lay unconscious, her face looking pale, serene, bandaged at the temple, her body unmoving beneath the sheets.
It had been three months since the accident.
Three agonizing months.
Every doctor that came in, each time offered the same guarded hope: “She’s stable… for now.”
But stable didn’t mean awake.
