"I have something else to do later," Lorne Noah Jackson whispered to his classmate.
The other person made an OK gesture at him and then followed inside.

Lorne turned and sat beside Emily Simpson, glancing sideways at her.
Maybe it was because someone had spoken just now, or the feeling of someone being close by, but Emily suddenly rubbed her eyes and then opened them.
To her surprise, Lorne was right there beside her, and her face instantly filled with a radiant smile.
"Have you finished your meeting?"
"Yeah, it's over," Lorne replied, now getting up, seeing that she was awake.
Emily nodded and quickly started walking to keep up with him.
"Lorne, wait a second." And at this moment, from behind the two of them, suddenly came a girl's voice.
Emily stopped in her tracks and turned to look back.
A girl wearing a pink coat, short skirt, high-heeled boots, and with mature curly hair followed them out.
Her gaze skimmed past Emily and settled straight on Lorne.
