The door was locked from the outside.
Sophie Sullivan rubbed her wrist and lay on the bed. House arrest it is, then. It's certainly better than being locked in a dark room. As for leaving? She didn't want to leave for now, at least not until her throat was better and preferably her face as well. Otherwise, running away with this face might frighten the children and make it easier to get caught.
Once Sophie lay down, it took her less than ten minutes to fall asleep again.
Throughout the night, the maniac under house arrest was still and made no noise.
The maid standing guard outside the door felt something was wrong. Wasn't it unusual for her not to eat or drink all day without causing a scene? It didn't suit her temperament.
The maid fetched the key, unlocked the door, and took a peek inside. The little maniac was still lying in bed, asleep.
"She really is a pig," the maid scoffed before closing the door.
