Anna Ainsworth was not visiting Thompson Manor for the first time, but it was definitely the most nerve-racking occasion, as today marked the formal engagement between her and Jeremy Thompson, signifying their mutual commitment to head towards marriage and actively prepare for it.
On the way there, she had been worried about whether Xaviar would accept her changing from his teacher to his mother, but to her surprise, as soon as the car had stopped, Xaviar was the first to run up and opened the door for her.
"Anna, welcome," Xaviar said with a beaming smile, "Anna, I've heard you're going to marry my dad and become my mum, is that right?"
Anna felt a slight tighten in her heart as she looked at Xaviar's smiling face and cautiously asked, "So, Xaviar, would you like Teacher Anna to be your mum?"
He didn't like it, of course. He wasn't particularly longing for a mum since his second aunt loved him just as much—his second aunt and mother were virtually the same.
