Kyle's eyes snapped open in surprise. For a moment, it was as if the world had stopped.
Then, with a deafening crash, the door they had entered through blasted open. Shadows darker than night poured into the room like a living tide, their movements fluid and deadly. The creatures let out guttural screams before being silenced in one fell swoop, their bodies collapsing lifelessly to the ground.
The room fell eerily silent.
"Oh my," came a cool, sarcastic voice from the doorway, dripping with amusement. "Am I interrupting something?"
Ashley's head whipped around, and her breath caught in her throat as she stared at the figure standing at the entrance. Everyone's eyes followed hers, their faces a mixture of shock and disbelief.
"Dylan," Ashley whispered, her voice barely audible.
He stood there, a faint smirk on his lips, his sharp features illuminated by the faint glow of the remaining blue lights.
