Liah sighs heavily as she looks at the plus sign on the pregnancy test in her hand. She was pregnant, on top of everything else, and here comes something else she will have to deal with. Going back in her memory, she would say she conceived on the same day that their secret hideaway was shot up.
That was an amazing day, too bad things went downhill after that. First, they had to stay away from each other because Moses was being watched by men from the other side. Moses had agreed with Anthony that they being alone together might be dangerous for her.
They still talk on the phone, but she couldn't see him. That was painful for her, but she filled her days with dreaming and anticipating their next epic love-making session. Then came the news that shattered everything. She and her mother found out that Zoey was pregnant, and she named Moses as the father. The two people she loves more than her own life had just plunged her soul into despair.
What was she to do? As much as she didn't want to believe it, she couldn't dismiss what her sister had said, and as much as she loved and missed Moses, she couldn't continue being with him as if nothing had happened. Of course, she didn't want to believe that the man she loves was capable of something like this
But him not being guilty would mean that Zoey was lying, and as mischievous as she knew teenagers could be, surely Zoey wouldn't go as far as to destroy someone's reputation with such a lie?
These were two people she holds dear to her heart. Two people she trusted and thought would never lie to her. Zoey has always been honest, and since she met Moses, he has always been straightforward with her, so which one of them was lying to her?
She held Zoey in her hands when she was born. She had watched her little sister grow into a God fearing young lady. Her sister would never lie about this, so that means Moses was the one lying.
The man she had fallen in love with, despite not knowing who he really was or where he came from, had played her for a fool while secretly seducing her little sister and others.
What if this wasn't the first time he had done something like this? What if it was a crime of this nature that got him beaten and dumped here in the first place? How was she to handle the knowledge that the man she was in love with was no better than Razor? no wonder they got along so well.
Being pregnant for a man she couldn't have a future with wasn't what she wanted for her life but her goals in life changed when she fell for Moses, of all the places in the world he could've ended up, he ended up here, in her country, in her community, in her care, it had to be faith, or so she thought.
Okay, so reality check, Moses's baby was now growing inside her, so what was she to do now? Her mother is now going to find out the truth that she was indeed sleeping with Moses and she wasn't sure how to handle the shame and disappointment she knew her mother and sister were going to dish at her, and Anthony will probably try convincing her to abort it.
Speaking of Anthony, she didn't even know what had happen after she left the base, because she had left the community early the following morning to come to this spiritual retreat, but knowing Moses he wasn't one to sit back and allow Anthony to hurt him...
so if she had to guess she would say that Moses probably knock Anthony out, escaped the base as he did over the other side and was now hiding out somewhere, as gorgeous as he is, she knew there were scores of women waiting to run to his rescue, that thought alone made her blood boil with jealously.
One thing was sure, she will be keeping her baby and the second thing she would need to do when she return home was to find some place else to live.
She plan on accepting Zoey's child as her child's brother or sister but seeing as though Zoey had slept with Moses willingly, being in the same house as her was no longer an option. That was her main reason for coming on this retreat. She needed to get away from everyone and everything that was happening around her, and it hurts that she couldn't talk to Jody about what she was feeling, because her best friend had taken the side of the man that played her for a fool, and she suspect that was because Jody also had sexual feelings for Moses...
and since he had spend time in her house, maybe she had even gotten a chance to act out her desires without Joseph knowing, so much for best friends. She snorts.
Zoey had admit that even though she knew that it was wrong to have sex with him, she couldn't resist his sweet words and extremely gorgeous dark eyes and what could she say, she had also fell for those dark eyes of his and apparently so had Jody.
With a deep sigh she walk over to a secluded spot and sat down under a tree. She was about to dial Anthony's number to ask what had happen with Moses when she was hit hard in the back of the head and everything around her went black.
