The problem isn't that big of a deal for regular people who have already given birth in the past and no longer have the desire to make a new child in the foreseeable future. In fact, this would be a nice thing as that would mean they won't be able to conceive no matter how much they do it on bed.
But that is only for those who have already done the deed and have produced their offspring. What about those who have yet to start a family and just got married? Those who wanted to have a child only for this strange sickness to appear and ruin their plans?
As much as doctors have been trying to understand what is happening, there is no definitive proof about it.
