Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Mr. Lover Dave

Levon stormed into the room, his anger palpable, and Sophia braced herself. He turned around to face her, his expression seething with frustration and disappointment.

Before he could unleash his anger, Sophia, her voice filled with remorse, pleaded,

"Please forgive me. I know what I did, and I will stop it. Please, don't give up on our marriage. Please, don't divorce me."

Levon, taken aback by her plea, furrowed his brows.

"Why would I divorce you over such a thing?"

he questioned, his anger shifting to confusion.

"But I was mad that you yelled at Upper Lady Rose! She's our maid, but I think of her as my sister. I won't forgive you for doing that."

Sophia relieved that he wasn't talking about her affair with Dave, stammered,

"I... I didn't mean to upset her. I just... I was thinking of something else."

Levon, still processing her words, asked,

"Thinking of something else? What were you thinking?"

In shock by her admission, Sophia blurted out,

"I burned your clothes."

Levon, rather than exploding in anger, burst into laughter.

"That is so stupid,"

he chuckled, shaking his head. Without further comment, he turned and headed to change,

leaving Sophia bewildered by his unexpected reaction.

As Levon disappeared into the walking wardrobe, Sophia's mind filled with confusion.

His laughter echoed in her ears, a stark contrast to the rage she had anticipated.

Moments later, Levon reappeared, now dressed in a fresh set of clothes.

The tension in the room had subsided, replaced by an awkward silence.

Sophia, still processing the unexpected turn of events, finally mustered the courage to speak.

"I'm so sorry,"

she began. She was trying her best to act guilty

"I didn't mean to burn your clothes….. It was foolish, and I promise I will make it up to you. And about Upper Lady Rose, I didn't mean to upset her either. I will apologize to her."

Levon, now more composed, sighed and said,

"You need to think before you act, Sophia. Apologize to Upper Lady Rose, and don't let this happen again. As for the clothes, I'll buy new ones. Just be more mindful, okay?"

Sophia, grateful for his unexpected grace, nodded.

"Thank you, Levon. I promise I will be more careful. I don't want to jeopardize our marriage."

Levon, his stern demeanor softening, replied,

"Good. Let's put this behind us and move forward. We have a lot to figure out, and I don't want such matters to cloud our path."
