Riser slowly pulled his hands from his pockets.
The sky crackled around him, charged with electricity. The light reflecting off the clouds cast a ghostly golden hue over the scene, as if the world were caught between the end and the beginning of something.
His fingers closed slowly, his fists enveloped in a deep, shimmering black glow, intense as liquid obsidian. The aura of Armament Haki spiraled in thin wisps around his arms, like ethereal serpents coiling around flesh and bone.
'End this in one blow…'
The thought came clear, cold, decisive.
'No point dragging out the spectacle for someone so pathetic.'
Enel hovered a few meters away, still floating with his feet inches above the dense cloud. His body was wrapped in stray sparks, his eyes wide with excitement and disdain. His mouth curved into a smile bordering on madness.
"What are you waiting for? Your chance is now, fool."
Robin wasn't breathing. The sound of the wind felt distant. Her eyes were locked on Riser's hands, now cloaked in vibrant, solid darkness, as if the night itself had taken form there.
Alvida narrowed her eyes, her hair whipped by the growing pressure in the air.
'He's going to do it.'
Enel raised his arms, the celestial drums vibrating behind him, electricity gathering in rings around his form.
"Come on, insect! Attack already! Do your best, even though nothing can touch this divine body!"
Riser took a step.
The sound was muffled by the weight of the tension.
The world went silent for a moment.
Then—
BOOOOOOM!
Riser's fist collided with Enel's chest, wrapped in pure Haki.
The impact was dry, brutal. Divine flesh met the absolute will of Armament Haki and lost.
Enel's chest caved slightly under the blow, his eyes widening in a flash of disbelief.
The air around them exploded outward in a circular gale. The clouds below shuddered, pushed violently, forming a funnel of vapor that spread like a giant ring.
The thunder died.
Enel didn't scream.
The sound of the impact was followed only by the sharp crack of the air being torn apart.
His body was hurled backward like an arrow, slicing through the sky in a straight line. The thunder that once followed him dissipated.
The sound of flesh colliding with the air faded behind.
The world returned to silence.
Robin brought a hand to her chest, unaware.
Alvida let out a low whistle, a smile creeping onto her face.
"Holy shit…"
The clouds still swirled slowly where the impact had occurred, as if the air were trying to recover from the violence it had witnessed.
Far away, Enel's body streaked across the sky like a solitary projectile.
His speed slowed. The sparks on his skin flickered like embers about to fade. His eyes were closed, his mouth slightly open, his chest marked by the deep shadow of the impact.
The cloud below deformed under the weight of his fall.
FWUMPH.
The muffled sound of the collision reverberated softly. Like a celestial drum struck one final time.
Riser appeared shortly after, walking through the air currents with steady steps. The clouds compressed beneath his feet, yielding to his dominance.
Electricity still crackled faintly around the fallen body. Not instinct. Reflex. A final vestige of the Lightning Fruit, trying to keep alive a man who didn't know how to lose.
'It'll happen like in the anime if I don't do something.'
Riser approached, his golden eyes scanning Enel's chest.
Sparks danced across his skin. Tiny, pulsing, almost rhythmic.
One. Two. Three.
'A damn biological defibrillator.'
He snapped the fingers of his right hand. The sharp sound echoed through the sky.
The black aura of Armament Haki returned with force, flowing down his arm like a mantle of living darkness. The sound of the air contracting around his hand made the environment tremble in silence.
Riser took a single step forward.
The cloud quaked under the pressure of his presence. The heat of the Haki radiated from his fist, and the air around Enel's motionless body began to hum ominously.
'I'm not giving him the chance to get up like some tragic joke.'
His arm moved.
THOOM!
The impact was dry, striking the same spot on the chest.
The cloud below erupted into a spiral of vapor, particles flung in wide circles. The sound of the punch reverberated like a muffled thunder, cutting through the air and echoing among the surrounding celestial formations.
Enel's skin gave way with a sharp crack. His chest caved in completely.
Nothing happened after that.
No tremor, no lightning, no spark.
The body relaxed.
The silence was absolute.
Riser stepped back half a pace, his arm still cloaked in pulsing darkness. The static energy around faded slowly, dispersing like a scent carried away by the wind.
The sky above seemed calmer. The air less charged. The island… quieter.
'Now we're done.'
He stared at the body for a few more seconds, just to be sure. No sparks. No pulse. Nothing.
"I want to extract his Akuma no Mi."
[Costo: 1,000 Luck Points.]
[Confirm?]
"Yes."
[Confirmed. Extracting Akuma no Mi…]
A golden glow enveloped Enel's crushed chest. The area crackled with a dry sound, as if the air were splitting from within. The energy was drawn from the corpse, condensing into a dark sphere that hovered above the body for just a second.
Then—
FWIP.
It vanished.
[Goro Goro no Mi added to inventory.]
[Remaining Luck Points: 61,500.]
Riser observed the corpse for another moment. Enel's face still held the trace of a smile, as if he hadn't realized the moment of his death. A dead god with his ego frozen in time.
The cloud beneath the body sank slightly, marking the useless weight of what once claimed divinity.
A gust of wind passed, scattering the last traces of electricity.
Riser turned, leaving the body behind.
With each step, the cloud beneath his feet molded silently, shaping the path of a king who needed to prove nothing to anyone.
---
The clouds compressed softly under his steps.
Riser appeared before them, his golden eyes still glinting with traces of the dispersed electricity.
Robin turned first, her body relaxed but her eyes alert.
"Poseidon. It's written here. The name of the ancient weapon."
The wind stirred her dark hair, and she touched the side of the Poneglyph with reverence.
"And the Pirate King was here before me. But I imagine you already knew all this, didn't you?"
Her gaze was serene. There was satisfaction in every word.
Riser merely nodded, his eyes fixed on the inscriptions.
"I did."
Robin smiled lightly, the breeze caressing her face. She stepped back, still absorbing the significance of the discovery.
"It's strange… even after waiting my whole life for this moment, it feels like just the beginning."
Alvida yawned, her arms crossed.
"Well… now that you brought the nerd here, killed a god, and cleared the sky… maybe you could do something I want, huh?"
She pouted shamelessly, her eyes narrowed with provocation.
Riser slowly shifted his gaze to her.
"What do you want?"
Alvida's smile widened, lazy, mischievous.
"To have some fun."
Riser didn't respond.
The aura around him dropped like a blade.
Alvida's pout trembled.
Her smile vanished.
Robin stepped back slightly, covering her mouth with her fingers.
Alvida coughed out an invisible excuse, crossing her arms more firmly than before.
"Forget it… I was kidding…"
Riser's voice came low, devoid of emotion.
"Fine."
