"Look!" The child is in a sunny mood. Her eyes sparkle as she picks up a stray pebble, turning it this way and that way as she observes it.
She bounces in place, dropping it in a bucket before scrounging about the dirt floor for more.
Her hands are filthy from searching about.
Not that she cares.
"I found a white! Stone!" She declares proudly.
White stones aren't exactly rare.
But in Carleon they do tend more toward darker tones like gray and reddish brown.
"You sure did." I say, leaning against the wall of the Boar's Feast as I watch her.
We could have already left, but Valentine and Lucas are both in the middle of some kind of business, so we're stuck here until both of them get back.
There's not much hurry, I suppose, since May is happy when she's here anyway.
Nevertheless this free time has resulted in May going on a stone collecting adventure.
