Chapter 17 - Owie, Owie, well fly away

London.

The Royal house.

Near the main gate, the white pigeon team is being checked for dangerous objects, and Lawrence was the most thoroughly checked. Upon entering the castle, they saw high ceilings and luxurious furniture. The officer was most impressed, and muttering to himself, he walked with the others down the corridor. On the way to the throne room, there was a passage to the kitchen, several guest rooms, a room with musical instruments, and a second reception room.

There were few guests at the meeting, but they were all influential people. Dukes, judges, and other high-ranking members of society are everywhere you look.

The team moved closer to the center. In the distance, the Duke of Normandy could be seen carefully discussing something with a man of almost the same age. Charlotte searched around and didn't see a Gazelle nearby. Ange looked around the room and found the secretary in the company with Mary. The princess came over to say hello. It turned out that today's event is dedicated to presenting Mary as a temporary person of the Kingdom.

During a family conversation, the Duke of Normandy approached them. William introduced the characters to the Duke of Aquitaine. He greeted the princesses and their friends in a gentlemanly manner. Lawrence was confused at first, but quickly recovered and saluted. Dorothy asked Ange in surprise about the officer's strange reaction. The girl replied softly with a smile.

— His reaction seems absolutely understandable to me, because the Duke of Aquitaine, along with the Duke of Normandy, run the police in everything in Albion.

The Duke of Aquitaine, putting his hand on Lawrence's shoulder, took the officer aside and said with a laugh.

— You go ahead and protect the princesses, at any cost. Then he whispered to him in a serious voice. — I hope you understood me clearly?

After a while, the ceremony began. The queen herself came out into the light. Everyone bowed. The current status of Princess Mary was announced to the entire hall. After that, the queen told about the duties and rights of the deputy, and soon everyone was put back in cars and taken back except for our heroes.

The Duke of Normandy and his secretary invited the girls and Lawrence to go with them. They went up to the next floor, the stairs of which were guarded by guards. The Duke knocked and led the team into the room, leaving the Gazelle. It was the Queen's quarters.

Charlotte asked in surprise.

— Grandma, what is this supposed to mean?

The Queen smiled and replied.

— You see, Charlotte, I'm not getting better, but someone has to represent the kingdom. I chose Mary for this role, but it won't be easy for her alone. That's why I'm asking you and your friends to help her in this matter. After all, you've proven yourself capable of protecting her, and Mary will enjoy spending time with you.

A smile spread across Mary's face. Charlotte, Ange, Dorothy, and Beatrice exchanged glances. Lawrence stood motionless while the Duke spoke.

— And we hope that the energy of some will work only for the benefit. — He looked at the officer and continued, — and I'd like to know where they are right now."

Charlotte asked smilingly.

— You must mean Glory?

The Queen confirmed by asking again.

— Yes, where is this restless kid?

Charlotte was nervous. Turning back, she saw Ange, who had nothing to say. The princess gathered herself and answered.

— Let's just say he went to see the world.

At about the same time, Svyat and Chise, along with Lord Horikawa and his servants, were traveling by train to the homeland of the Japanese.

Lord chatted with Chise in the presence of guards, while Glory sat thoughtfully by the window in the next carriage. The Japanese discussed what they would do when they arrived in the capital and what would happen to Svyat. The boy continued to examine what he could see: fields, sky, sun, clouds, a black train that suddenly appeared...

Glory got up from his seat and, seeing the harpoon pointing in his direction, scratched his head. Suddenly, a precise shot hit the window and an arrow pierced through the glass and clung to the left wall. Svyat burst into the next carriage and, seeing Chise, asked loudly.

— Chise, what's the Japanese word for "Run, we're under attack"?!

The Japanese woman looked worried.

— They understand English.

Holy, having calmed down.

— Well, if that's the case, then run, you fools, we've been attacked, beetroot!

The guards quickly took Lord Horikawa to a hiding place, while Chise and the two guys with Svyat went ahead. Entering a carriage with a harpoon rope sticking out of it, the two climbed onto another train while Svyat and Chise moved on. A man with a gun was waiting outside the door, who immediately wanted to use it. The girl immediately knocked the weapon out of her hands and knocked out the enemy. The girl took the gun and began to examine it, but then three men in the same clothes entered the carriage from the front door. They also took out their guns and were about to start firing. But then Svyat grabbed the pistol from Chise and, pulling the trigger, fired the entire clip.

A second later, it became clear that all the shells had missed their targets, and then the opposite side began firing. Glory, without hesitation, pushed the girl into cover, and he took out and spun kusarigama, so that he reflected all the bullets flying at him and, moreover, confidently said.

— It doesn't work...

Then the Yakuza took out katanas and the not so brave boy spoke in a monotone voice.

— And it may well be...

Chise immediately drew her weapon and went into battle. Pouncing on the first one, she disarmed him and threw him aside. The second violently began to carry out attacks so that because of the cramped room and chairs, the girl began to back away. Svyat did not stand aside and straddled the seats and tried to move forward, but the man stopped him, pushing him back into the same chairs. After that, the Yakuza, pushing Chise even further, found a moment to hit the target with his blade, but in a swing, Svyat caught his opponent's katana with his kusarigama, kicked the third one away and, detaining the second, waited until Chise delivered a stunning blow.

In the end, they agreed to split up, Svyat would go ahead to the train driver's carriage, and Chise would return to Lord Horikawa.

Having made his way through the broken door, the boy found himself in the train driver's car. Without understanding, he immediately knocked out the Yakuza by steering the train. But I soon realized that now there is no one to drive the transport. Svyat looked back and saw the bound driver. But attempts to bring the driver to his senses failed.

Chise fought off the last wave of advancing enemies. After learning about Lord Harikawa's good condition, she decided to visit Svyat. At the entrance to the door, a man dressed in a black robe and mask suddenly burst in. He took out his katana and Chise was ready to fight him, but suddenly Glory ran in screaming.

— We're going to crash if we don't stop the train!

Chise, who was fighting off the stranger's attacks, said.

— As you can see, I'm a little busy!

Svyat took the lying katana and threw it at the man. He was distracted by her, protecting himself, and then switched back to hitting the girl. At that moment, the boy flew into the man with two legs, knocking him down. Chise looked at Svyat with a disapproving look and said.

— You've insulted an entire nation right now...

— To save its inhabitants! — The kid shouted.

They ran to the train driver's car, Glory said.

— Come on, slow down, you ride trains more often.

Chise hesitated, but apparently it dawned on her and she started giving out commands. Svyat took a kusarigama and, looking out of the carriage, threw the chain on the valve and began braking. While Chise flipped the switch. And together they pulled on the handbrake. The train slowed down from the mountain in half, after which it stopped altogether.

Exhausted, they collapsed to the floor. Svyat pulled up his sleeve, and there was a small wound on his wrist, from which blood was flowing. Chise came over and spoke.

— Owie, Owie, Fly Away...

The kid was surprised, because the blood really stopped flowing. And he asked.

— Is this a special spell?

Chise voice sounded tired.

— Yes, it helps to relieve pain. By the way, there is a place nearby, we can stay there.

It was getting late.

The sun will soon begin to set below the horizon. Chise and Svyat walked a little way from the train and went up to the grave. The girl came closer and sat down next to her, if you looked closely, you could see a small tear that appeared on her face. At the same time, the boy did not feel calm, and whispered.

— Owie, Owie, well Fly Away.
