Liu Mingxing was holding a cup of water, leaning against the head of the bed and drinking slowly. The cool tea moistened her dry throat, as if every cell in her body was gradually waking up.
She closed her eyes and smiled at the nurse, "Thank you."
The nurse looked at her pale face and asked, "Is there anything else you need?"
Liu Mingxing gently shook her head, "No."
"Okay. Then get some rest, and I will take your temperature again," the nurse said, tweaking the corner of her blanket.
Liu Mingxing nodded, letting the nurse take her temperature with a thermometer before closing her eyes to rest.
Tired as if she had lived through half a lifetime, she closed her eyes to the complete darkness before her, yet such darkness brought her a sense of peace.
If she didn't care, she felt no fear. Alone, she could cope just fine, just like when she was abroad by herself, with no difference.
