Adeline shook her head.

Yuri quickly refused, shaking his head. "This makes no sense. This makes no sense, Roman. What do you mean she looked at him like a woman in love? Why would Vera ever do that? She knows the kind of people the Petrov family are to us. She would never do that. She would never betray us like that. Vera wouldn't betray Caesar."
"I personally don't believe that." Nikolai shrugged.
"Nikolai!" Yuri snapped at him.
"I'm just being honest," Nikolai said. "I mean isn't it weird? The way she hasn't taken any of our calls for months now. The way she has never once visited Caesar even though she's right here in Russia. She could visit Roman in the hospital and tend to him, but not pay us a single visit or even accept calls? Does that make any sense to you? Don't you feel that something is wrong?"
Yuri blinked, glancing around in confusion.
