Inside the house, the third Hokage, Hiruzen, had bloodshot eyes as he slumped down and leaned on the wall. He looked like an old man who had lost all meaning in his life.
His room was in a complete mess, as everything was smashed to pieces by his earlier rampage. If there were some claw marks, one could frame this as a wild animal rampage.
"Danzo oh Danzo, " Hiruzen muttered as he clenched his hands in anger. Just an hour ago he got a report from one of his secret agents he placed to monitor Danzo that his best friend was killed.
Driven by grief, he went on a rampage inside his house. Although they both had their disagreements, Danzo was his best friend and partner. For years, both of them worked together to protect Konoha.
Hiruzen swore that he didn't even feel this much pain even when his beloved wife or son died. Knowing that Danzo was gone made him feel like his life had no worth.
And what was more heartbreaking was that the one who killed his best friend was none other than his own student, Orochimaru.
When Hiruzen first got this information, he was in denial. He knew his best friend well; there was no way he could be defeated by Orochimaru. After all, Danzo has more than enough cards to play. And with his strength, it shouldn't be that hard to escape.
But then as he was reading through the information, he unfortunately got the answer to his question. According to the information, the one who completed the bounty was an organization called Akatsuki. And in addition to Orochimaru, there were two others who came to collect the bounty.
Realizing who the murderer of his best friend Danzo was, Hiruzen wanted to rush straight towards this Akatsuki and take revenge immediately. But that's when he realized the fact that he couldn't do anything.
