Thirty minutes later;
Hiro and Maximus are cleaning the shattered glasses, holding one broom each. "I should have stayed unconscious…," said Maximus as he swiped the floor. Next to him, Hiro threw the broom on the floor;
"But why am I dragged into your mess! It's all your fault! Why did you unleash your aura, huh!?"
Hiro demanded his answers, as Maximus too questioned back; asking why didn't Hiro stopped him back then. The two started to argue, with Maximus picking him broom and Hiro getting into his stance; ready to face off when they heard a voice.
"Boys…"
Maximus and Hiro both straightened up; Maximus's broom almost slipped his grasp but he caught it. Hiro too quickly picked his broom from the floor, as the two quickly began to clean the floor once again.
Behind the two, Celestina stood looking at them working; with a calm smile forming in her face yet a dark aura enveloped her. Behind her, Nino and Mono stood on one side and Kai and Ray placed on the other.
"Even an emperor can't talk back to his wifey huh…," both Kai and Ray thought so together at the same time.
After making sure both Hiro and Maximus were working, Celestina turned her gaze back to the four of them as she asked with anticipation in her eyes. "So, who made the first move?"
Her eyes sparkled as she asked the question, as Nino just lowered her head as she blushed. Mono just stood by awkwardly while Kai asked Ray through the earpiece to quietly move out of here once Celestina is distracted. And the opportunity came just in a few minutes. Hiro and Maximus started to argue again, as Celestina had to go ahead and scold the two again.
In that moment, Ray swiftly used his wind magic and along with Kai; leaped out of the window as the two quickly went to the other side of the palace. As the two were walking by; around them the palace workers were busy cleaning the mess created by Maximus's outrage. Ray kept asking, since when did Kai and Mono began to peek at him and Nino; but Kai kept ignoring his calls. Looking around, Kai just glanced around the maids working when he heard faint voices of those maids.
The two maids were in a hushed discussion; talking about some newly opened newly opened café ran by two handsome guys. The two maids were giggling as they talked about it, while I kept hearing them with a straight face; with Ray pushing his wheel behind still asking him questions. Just as the two turned to a secluded corner, Kai stood up from his wheelchair and turned his look at Ray with a smile as he said;
"Let's visit the city for a bit." Ray paused for a second, looking himself up and down; doing the same for Kai as he raised his doubt. "Just like this…?" Kai then chuckled, slowly raising his right arm, snapping his finger while saying;
"I meant, like this." Just as he snapped his fingers, a bright light enveloped the two.
Twenty minutes later, in the capital city.
The crowd was in an uproar. Why? Cause just now, two beautiful girls had appeared on the street and walked around the shops. One with a brilliant blonde hair, fair skin and deep blue eyes; wearing a blue dress and carrying a cute, soft bunny plushie. And by her side, walked an elegant beauty. Long and sleek blue hair, with a fair skin and clear purple eyes; wearing a soft-pinked dress.
People gossiped in the crowd, claiming the two girls are some noble who came out for shopping. Some claiming they were from the other empires, since they were never seen around. The gossip kept going on, until the two of them entered a boutique shop. Inside, the blue hair one stated that her friend saw a dress presented inside the shop and was wishing to check it out. The sales associate presented there guided the two for the dress; asking if they would like to try it on.
Hearing so, the blue hair girl cheerfully exclaimed that they would love to, and quickly took the dress and her friend to try it on. Just before entering the trial room, the blue hair girl slowly looked back with an apological look, expressing that her friend would need help with the dress and if it was alright for her as well to enter the fitting room. To this, the sales associate smiled and nodded, saying it's all fine and if the two needed any assistance, then to call for her as she slowly moved back to the counter.
The two girls then went inside the fitting room, but the cheerful atmosphere was seemed to have been left outside. Inside, it was a deep silence as the two just stand inside the room with their head down. The blonde seemed to be wanting to say something, but the one put her hand on her shoulder.
"Just one sec…," the blue one spoke but her voice had a complete shift. From a soft, female voice to a male's voice. A small circular chip like object materialized in her hand, which she placed on the wall of the fitting room; and a blue light glowed in between it as if indicating that it was working. She smiled as she turned to the other one and said;
"Alright Ray, you can speak freely now. No one can hear us from the outside now."
Turns out, the blue haired girl was none other than Kai in disguise. And the blonde hair was Ray, following Kai with his disguise as well.
But as Kai called him up to speak, Ray just mumbled to himself with his head still down. Curious, Kai asked what he meant, but Ray cut him in between as Ray turned around and screamed;
"What the hell is this!?!?"
He reached his hand to his hair and quickly threw off the wig on the ground; "Why am I needed to wear this and disguise myself as a girl, huh!?!?"
Ray questioned, fuming in anger. But Kai calmly expressed that he needed Ray's help to investigate something. But Ray argued back, asking why he should dress-up like a girl then. To this, Kai simple patted Ray's shoulder as he explained;
Apparently, the group of assassins attacked the mansion back in the duchy during the moon festival. And the ones' who kidnapped Kai after the entrance exam, were both working for the same person. And back then, when Kai caught the female assassin whom he left to Hiro for investigation; he found some intel from her before making her go unconscious. And according to that, the group were actually planning on stealing something important from a magic tool shop from the capital city. And from Eva, Kai found that there was a total of thirteen magic tool shop in the capital city; but one of them stood out the most from the others. Since recently, a new café had opened, that too just next to that magic tool shop.
Explaining further, Kai stated that now he and Ray are to go and check that shop. And as for the disguise, Kai stated that going in as a girl won't be suspicious, since the café is being visited by the ladies only since the time of opening.
After hearing so, Ray thought for a while rubbing his forehead. As he sighed in the end, he agreed to it but asked for wrapping his work fast since he feels awkward walking around the city as a girl; and the looks he gets from the guys around makes him sick.
As the two were talking there, by the other side of the city; in that café. There was a line of ladies waiting for their turn. As for those who entered first were enjoying their sweets and drinks served by the two male associates. But unaware to the ladies, all their drinks and sweets were mixed with a purple liquid droplet.
