Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: A Giant and a Sorcerer on a Walk

It was a lazy afternoon in Shizuoka's commercial district—blue skies, cotton clouds, and the kind of heat that made vending machines look like beacons of salvation. A few pro heroes patrolled the streets, half alert, half hoping for nothing to happen.

Yu Takeyama, better known to the world as Mt. Lady, sighed into her earpiece.

"Honestly, if I'd known internships meant this much walking, I wouldn't have agreed to such nonsense," she muttered, adjusting her sunglasses. "Why are we even patrolling without a car? This is like cardio with none of the benefits."

Beside her walked a tall, poised young man in a modern dark-blue tailored suit, the collar subtly embroidered with golden arcane symbols. A golden tie clip shaped like an ankh sat neatly on his chest. He looked every bit the part of a hero—except he wasn't one who came from this world.

Aiden Blaze, currently known to some as Doctor Fate, strolled calmly with his hands behind his back. The Helmet of Fate hovered silently near his shoulder, like a loyal guardian spirit on standby.

"I love action more than talking," Aiden said quietly. "And something tells me today will be... unremarkable."

Mt. Lady scoffed. "Boring's fine. Do you want to stop for cake? There's this place down the street that gives me a hero discount."

"Cake sounds—"

A shriek cut him off. Then glass shattered.

"Out of the way!!"

From a corner store up ahead, a man stumbled out, flinging open the doors like he was being chased by demons. His legs bounced unnaturally with every step, sending him careening across the street like a pinball on steroids.

His jacket flapped open to reveal a half-crushed beer can and a neon-pink name tag that read: Kenji.

Mt. Lady raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, perfect. A drunk guy with a spring quirk."

Aiden glanced over. "Speed and propulsion based—But erratic, looks like easy job"

"I got this," Mt. Lady declared, cracking her knuckles. "Time to so you have I catch this villain"

With a flash, she activated her Quirk. In seconds, her body expanded into a towering giantess, casting a long shadow over the block.

"HEY! You with the stupid face! Stop bouncing around before I make you part of the pavement!"

Kenji didn't seem to hear—or more likely, didn't care. He launched himself off a mailbox, bounced off a streetlamp, then shot off a car roof, completely avoiding Mt. Lady's grab.

The crowd, of course, was loving it.

Phones were out. Cheering. Hashtags forming in real-time.

"He's like a mix of pinball and a caffeinated mouse," Mt. Lady hissed.

She swiped at him again and missed by half a second.

"Come ON! Just once, I want an easy arrest!"

Aiden simply watched, hands in his coat pockets, unimpressed.

Kenji bounced to a rooftop, flailed, then stuck a shaky landing and raised both hands like he'd won gold at the Olympics.

That was his mistake.

Aiden calmly raised one hand. A soft golden glow ignited around his fingertips. He didn't need dramatics—not for this.

With a twitch of his wrist, runes flared into existence midair, forming a translucent grid. The Helmet of Fate clicked into place on his head, magic surging through his veins.

But the man ignore everything around him and just made a leapt —straight into an invisible golden barrier. The impact flipped him sideways, and he ricocheted off two more energy plates, landing with a yelp inside a glowing spherical cage.

Suspended midair. Trapped. Still spinning slightly.

The crowd applauded.

Mt. Lady, shrinking down and brushing dust off her jeans, walked up beside Aiden with a forced smile.

"I totally had him, just so you know."

Aiden said nothing.

The helmet dissolved into gold mist, and he exhaled lightly.

" let's just hand over him took the police and continue our boring walk"

" It's not that boring look we even encounter a villain" mt lady

" It is just a drunk man not a villain" Saying this he handover the drunk man to the police for handling.

Next she talking to buy the cake from the shop which he got little happiest discount was really good.

Back at the agency with quiet focus. Screens lined the wall, showing crime reports, recent incidents, and news bulletins. Aiden sat alone, light from the screens reflecting faintly in his eyes. One finger hovered thoughtfully over the keyboard as he accessed a private, encrypted terminal—one disconnected from Mt. Lady's network.

> "Great Sage," he said internally.

> Listening.

> "Compile files on two individuals."

> ❖ Confirmed.

He thought: "Two profiles—interesting, yet not irredeemable."

Name: Kaina Tsutsumi — better known as Lady Nagant

Background: Former pro hero turned assassin under the Public Safety Commission, now incarcerated in Tartarus after confronting corruption .

Profile: Sleek, poised, with unmatched marksmanship and moral conflict. A former symbol of order, now a prisoner.

Aiden studied her face—calm, elegant, deceptively distant.

"She didn't fall to evil… she broke under hypocrisy, appearance is also okay" he whispered.

Great Sage: *"she might still have conflict with your not so great goal."*

He quietly flagged her file.

Name: Himiko Toga

Affiliation: Active member of the League of Villains .

Quirk: Transform — allows shape-shifting into anyone whose blood she ingests; can replicate their quirk after sufficient sample .

Persona: Cute and bubbly in appearance, emotionally volatile, obsessed with connection through blood—driven by love rather than malice .

Images showed her smiling—pure innocence twisted with obsession. Not cruelty for cruelty's sake, but an alarming need for authenticity.

"She misses what she never had," he said softly.

Great Sage: "Instability high. Lethality potential elevated. Emotional vulnerability present."

Another file quietly flagged. Then he leaned back, steepling his fingers in thought.

As the day and dead he prepared to leave for the home.
