The shockwave of the explosion was strong enough that the floating wooden cat stamps were knocked back, the sheer power of the clash displacing the air and pushing them away from the stage. It was amazing, it was beautiful, it was great. There were only so many words he could use to describe the beauty that was that impact. It might have looked that the world was about to end but so what. That was the beautiful thing about explosions.
Finn was unfortunately among those who had been knocked away by the blast of air. He believed the only reason the blast did not injure anyone that much was because of Grand master wizard's interference. Maybe a form of barrier magic.
His heart was beating wildly, a crazed, excited expression on his face, as his mind went over that last attack. Explosions were truly an art. He was most interested in that Mirror artefact of hers and the possible more abilities it could have had. Finn did wonder if this Mirror Wizard was a new person born due to this strange new Adventure Time world or she existed in the old show. What he was sure of was that there was no mention of such a person from the shows he would watch.
"Awesome. "Finn muttered, because that was the absolute truth of it. The back and forth between the two, the sheer creativity in which they used their powers, and even the scale of destruction of their spells, everything about it was awesome.
"Hey Mr. cat head, fly back, were missing the fight. "Finn tapped the cat stump and urged it to go back. He could see the fight might still be ongoing from the shouts coming in that direction and wanted to rush right back. But he believed the victor was already decided. Dimension wizard had looked exhausted in those last moments.
He was almost the only one still in the area, the others had already rodded their cat heads back to the stadium. While the few who remained were doing the same slowly.
"Meow." His cat head, not listening to him at all, started to lower from up high to the ground, something seemingly attracting its attention. Cats were always curios creatures.
It approached a tree which Finn saw had some sort of fruit and started eating happily, ignoring Finn urging it to move back to the Stage wizard Fight.
This was the reason he was more of a dog person! Finn did wonder though how it would go if he found a talking cat that he would suddenly treat the same way he treated Jake. Jake would probably go bonkers with jealousy. The idea sounded like a solid episode.
"Huhh, how unlucky. "Finn jumped off the cat head, giving the wooden cat stump more flexibility to maneuver around the tree to further enjoy it's meal. He gave it an annoying look but figured he should walk back on his own before he missed any other cool moves. He did not expect much though, but you never knew. Maybe Dimension Wizard had more tricks up his sleeves.
It was when he planned to leave the cat stump behind and go that his ears caught onto something, a sound that became more distinct the more he tried to pay attention to it, and in the silent forest cover his cat stump had blasted off to, the sound was even clearer.
His ears caught onto the sound of music. Melodious and charming in a way he could not explain.
Which was strange, how exactly could music be charming. Finn did not know why, but this sound just caught his attention, it attracted him, and Finn followed along. Maybe he was the only one who could hear the music. And his curiosity was also peeked.
"I'll be back in a few. "Finn said to the cat stump head and was with no surprise easily ignored.
"Meow meow. "The cat uttered to itself, and Finn moved along. That was probably the best response he would be getting anyways.
Finn waved as he moved deeper into the forest, the explosions and booms behind him trying to pull him back but his curiosity won over. The sound of the music was too appealing to him. And like a mouse to a trap, he moved forward. Maybe a monster waited at the end of his journey, or maybe it would be an unexpected meeting. To his knowledge that was how faith usually worked. Mysteriously and randomly.
The more he moved away from the direction of the stage the less their shouts could be heard and the clearer the sound of music was to Finn. And he followed along, curious about what was at the end of the tunnel.
No surprise at all, Finn met no random person along his journey to locate the source of the music, probably they were all either attracted by the wizard battle, eating a late-night snack or simply still shopping for some unique goods.
Now that he was alone, in the quiet of the forest, Finn felt himself gradually calm, his heart slowing and the earlier excitement from the fight lowering to a thoughtful calm. He found his mind wandering to random thoughts.
He thought about this area they currently occupied, where the Blood moon festival was happening. What he was interested in was the seemingly expanded space within the area. From the region the wizard battle was happening, to the picnic area, to the merchant area and even this area. The dimensions of the wizard arena were too small to fit all these areas by one but here they were, fitting in and having space to spare. He wondered who had cast such a large form of magic. They had to be very powerful.
Finn found himself thinking of Cornifer and wondered how he was doing. If he had managed to sell any maps and accessories or if he had already left to go back home. He thought of Cornifer's world. About the radiance and the void. Troubles he wished he would not have to deal with. But who he was with his adventurous spirit, he would not be surprised if one day he landed in Hollownest.
He then though about the other weird noticeable figures he had met today. The villager who acted as the wandering trader who only accepted emeralds as a form of trade. Beedle the trader who was oddly obsessed with beetles, the lizard-goblin like chef who cooked great food and even the large blacksmiths who talked about repairing his weapons. Even the enigmatic ghost hunter caught his attention.
All of these people, Finn thought about, he wondered what effect they and their world would have for the Adventure time reality. Would things get worse. Or would things be easier. The possibilities were endless. But what Finn was sure of was that he would need to prepare for the eventually of anything happening.
Maybe he would wake up one day and find the wither skeleton had suddenly appeared in the land of Ooo, causing distraction everywhere. Or it was even possible that Ganondorf had somehow found himself here and had decided to spread his malice. It was too much to think about and all Finn could do was prepare himself and hope for the best.
The sound of the music got clearer, and Mikael could finally pick up something else in the sound. Was it sadness, a longing in the way the music played. Or was it simply his imagination. People tended to make things up when they were alone and silently walked in a dark forest with creepy noises.
He would find out soon enough.
A sort of clearing was up ahead, where the moonlight shined down on a figure he could not see clearly, he moved forward through the shrubbery, the shear mystery of it all making him try his best to make as little noise as possible.
And he finally arrived, the music now words he could clearly hear, the monster he imagined he would find at the end of his journey replaced by a sight straight from a fairy tell.
'She was a fairy.' Finn thought his eyes sparkling.
She floated off the ground, hovering above a wooden stamp in a sitting position. She held a large axe in her hands; no, it was a sort of modified axe which now acted as a guitar which she was currently plucking gently as she sung her song.
Long midnight black hair, pale almost greyish skin, sharp fangs that were exposed every moment she opened her eyes, hypnotizing green eyes, two bite marks on her neck and giving out extreme cool goth girl vibe with an extremely beautiful face. A description only one person in the entirely of the land of Ooo had.
'Marceline the Vampire queen. 'Finn thought, almost shouting in his mind as he closed his mouth tightly, preventing the scream that would have come from him.
He was not sure if she had noticed him or not, but Marceline seemed to be completely focused on the song she was singing, as she floated with her eyes closed.
"Let's go in the garden, you'll find something waiting, right there where you left it lying upside down, when you finally found it, you'll see how it faded the underside is lighter when you turn it around. Everything stays right where you left it, everything stays but it still changes, ever so slightly daily and nightly, in little way when everything stays. "
