"And how sure are you that I didn't do the work?" Cheng Xiao asked Gu Xixi.
"Isn't that obvious by looking at the empty pages." Gu Xixi answered back,
"She wants to convince everyone that she did the work when the evidence is clear." Someone said.
"Su Li, I promise I did do the work." Cheng Xiao turned to Su Li saying.
"I will print it out for you." Cheng Xiao added.
"What do you mean?" Su Li asked puzzled.
"I always make sure to save the work on my phone as backup." Cheng Xiao spoke and showed Su Li the document on her phone.
"Okay, you do that. I need the file for the meeting in 20 minutes." Su Li spoke.
"How could you have the work on your phone?" Gu Xixi asked with her voice raised.
"Are you lying to everyone to avoid consequences?" Gu Xixi's follower asked.
"I said I did the work and have proof of it, why is it that it seems like you don't like it." Cheng Xiao asked them, making the whole office to turn towards Gu Xixi and her friend.
"Yeah, she proved that she did do the work, why do you two have a problem with that." Someone asked.
"Or is it you two you wanted to make it look like she didn't do the work?" Someone asked making Gu Xixi's eyes to become wide.
"The file had blank pages, why are you blaming me for asking some questions?" Gu Xixi asked back.
"It seems like you did the work." Gu Xixi added.
"I think we should check the surveillance to check why the pages turned out to be blank." Cheng Xiao said and looked straight at Gu Xixi.
"What's the need? You did the work and proved it, besides Su Li is waiting for the file isn't she." Gu Xixi said nervously.
Gu Xixi pulled her friend down, she didn't want the discussion to lead to the checking the surveillance footage, because she would get caught. Cheng Xiao looked at the way Gu Xixi wanted to avoid them checking the footage and confirmed her suspicion.
Cheng Xiao decided to let it slide, thanks to the precautions Xu Kai taught her, they came in handy. The first Xu Kai told her was to always have the work backed up on her laptop or in her phone. Thanks to that she was able to escape trouble.
Cheng Xiao went out to go and print the work out. This week, they would get the competition details, and this was her time to show them exactly what she could do. They thought that she has no idea about designing, she was going to show them what she was capable of.
