Chapter 144 - Chapter 143

Emiya's residence.

After sending most of them to their rooms, only the demons, me, the girl, Gabriel and Griselda remained in the living room. As it was, it would be too troublesome and noisy to talk in the presence of so many people. Runeas, on the other hand, instantly fled as soon as she sensed the Demon Lords. And of everyone at the moment, only an embarrassed Gabriel stood out, as well as a pouting Serafall.

- "So, why did Sis-con, his fetish, sloth, child, and... intellectual come to see me?" I began, "Just so you know, I'm sleepy and will react accordingly."

- "A couple hours ago, we felt a... pulse," Ajuka said, "And we suspect it was you."

- "It could have been my squirrel dog hare, too. You know, the white pest."

- "This is serious, Romani-san," Sirzechs insisted, "Our entire race is in a panic, because this pulse contained the Heavenly Hymn that was last heard back in the Great War."

- "Is this an interrogation?" I grinned.

- "No, Romani-san, but it has caused us a lot of work," Falbium said.

- "You're not even doing work, you're dumping it on others!" Serafall threw up her hands, which got a shrug, and then pointed a finger at the sniffling girl on my lap, "Where did you get a baby anyway, Ro-tan?! Did that angel rape you?!"

- "Even if you are a Demon Lord, Lady Leviathan, you should have some decorum," Griselda said sternly as Gabriel lowered her head again and squirmed on the couch.

- "Indeed," Rea-chan backed her up, "Why is my great ancestor's surname carried by someone like you."

- "Because there's no one else!" Serafall shrieked, "There was only me and Greyfia, but the demons wouldn't accept a defector as a Demon Lord. And you know that very well, Rea-tan!"

- "Wow, you can settle matters without my presence. Maybe I should still just go and sleep like I originally planned?"

- "Please calm down, Lady Leviathan, Serafall," Sirzechs immediately intervened, "Sorry about that, Romani-san, but we really, really need to know the reason."

- "I don't know. Perhaps the reason is because I occupied the Throne of Heaven, don't you think?"

And as soon as I said that, the demons' eyes became like pennies five hundred yen each. Sirzechs twitched the edge of a smile, Greyfia froze like a puppet, Ajuka just nodded, and Falbium shook his head. Serafall on the other hand...

- "I knew it! You sold out to Heaven for sex with that angel!" She jumped up, to which I rolled my eyes, and Gabriel squirmed even more against the back of the couch, and then went into a whisper, "I should have been more decisive..."

- "Serafall's overreaction aside, then... is it true?" Ajuka asked.

- "It's hardly a matter of demons, green hedgehog," I said, for his hair did look like one, "If that's all, then please leave."

- "No, Romani-san, there's something else," Sirzechs came to his senses, "How can we placate you?"

His question made basically everyone, even me, look at him with genuine surprise. Even Serafall stiffened and fell silent, Gabriel's fit of embarrassment vanished, and Greyfia began pinching his cheek. I, on the other hand, raised an eyebrow.

Sirzechs himself, a very impressive manipulator and capable liar, had asked me so bluntly about this? Apparently, he really needed my support, or at least my presence. Demons have really given up, though, in their own way.

- "I'll give you credit, even I didn't expect such a direct way of sucking up," I grinned, "Why so eager?"

- "As if you care," he smiled, and I shrugged.

- "You're right about that, but what can you offer me?"

- "The same as Heaven," he said, and now the eyes of those present were even bigger than they had been before.

- "Sirzechs, what are you doing?" Ajuka asked.

- "Yeah, don't you think you're going to extremes?" Serafall added.

- "I like it that way," shrugged Falbium, "This way we have less work to do."

- "You're definitely going overboard, Lord Lucifer," Griselda supported them, and Rea-chan agreed.

- "Is that a bad thing?" Gabriel suddenly spoke up to everyone's surprise, "This way, Heaven and the Underworld will be under Romani-san's rule, and there will be true peace between us."

- "You see, even the seraphim are not against my idea," Sirzechs said to the others in a hurt tone and looked at me, "Of course, we do not have an analog of the Throne of Heaven, which would give a guarantee and control over the Underworld, but if all four Demon Lords agree, it is quite possible to realize."

I wondered.

Well, on the one hand, it would be nice to control all the factions of the Biblical Mythology, because there would be more opportunities not only to have fun at their expense, but also to keep an eye on Issei and the others.

The Fallen are already, in fact, under my control, because with the new settings of the Biblical God system it became possible for them to regain their snow-white wings. And besides, with the renewal of my soul, I could afford a little more than before.

On the other hand, I would have extra chores and all the other negative aspects of ruling. Although...

- "No, I'm not going to do YOUR job for you, Romani," Goetia said as the demons bowed respectfully to him.

- "Come on," I smiled, "It's just a couple minutes, that's all. In and out, as they say. Isn't it cool to rule an entire demon race and, in fact, a world almost the size of Earth?"

- "I got enough problems. I don't need any more," he said firmly.

- "If I may, Your Majesty, what problems are troubling you? If they were within our power, we would support you in any way we could," Sirzechs asked.

- "This is none of your business, Gremory's blood..."

- "You see, some Pillars demons have a rather childish nature, and Goetia, as a decent parent, is watching over them with..."

- "Shut up, Romani. I'm warning you."

- "Well, Goetia, like a proper parent, is raising..."

- "Romani has a great passion for red hair and blue eyes," Goetia said, at which the audience gave me a surprised look and I grinned.

Did he really use that card? Hehe. Didn't he know that I basically didn't care, hmm?

- "Well, well, well, is that the best you can do? Really?" Patting him on the head, I said, "That's strong. Here, have some candy."

- "I'd look away if I were you."

- "Huh?" I didn't understand and shifted my gaze to the demon-occupied couch, then slapped myself in the face. Why?

Sirzechs, just like a schoolgirl who'd suddenly been told she loved him, was blushing, hiding his gaze, and nervously twiddling his fingers, occasionally glancing in my direction in embarrassment and guilt. Serafall opened and closed her mouth like a fish on land, Falbium shrugged, Ajika drank tea indifferently, and Greyfia's eyebrow twitched as she looked at her husband.

Griselda wrinkled her nose in disgust, muttering 'sin' and 'What else could you expect from him?' and Gabriel twirled her head incomprehensibly, clearly confused by the others' reactions.

- "I heard from Sona that you can change a person's gender to the opposite, but... Sorry!" Sirzechs lowered his head dramatically, which only increased my irritation, "I'm married, and I have a son, but... if that's how you like me... then..."

- "One more word and you're dead, Sis-con," I hissed and looked at Goetia, who was smirking at me with a vicious grin and sharp fangs in his mouth, "And you..."

- "What am I, Romani?" Goetia practically purred, "Can I get you some water and a sedative? I promise to read you a bedtime story if EVERY evil uncle has wronged you."

- "You win this round, eyeball. So far," I said in the same tone, and turned my gaze back to the demons, "Well, you... You..."

- "Yes, Ro-tan?" Serafall asked nervously.

- "Prepare your council. Tomorrow there will be a new king in the Underworld," I said, smiling sweetly.

- "I don't remember agreeing to that."

- "No, no, you did when you opened your mouth, my friend," I pointed out, and the next moment my rings glowed and my appearance changed to that of Solomon, "You know that Solomon's Noble Phantasm can be used in many ways, right? Say, to make even someone like you obey it, hmm?"

- "Don't you dare, Romani," Goetia said in a stern tone, "Or there will be war."

- "The Time of Birth has come..."

- "The Light of the Father..." Gabriel babbled.

- "Should we be worried?" Sirzechs asked nervously.

- "He is the One Who Masters All..."

- "I think it's time for us to leave," Ajuka said monotonously and teleported away with the other Demon Lords.

- "If you finish this, I promise you won't like the consequences," Goetia gritted his teeth.

- "Ars Almadel Solomonis," I activated Noble Phantasm, and the living room lit up with a bright golden light.

You didn't think, bastard, that your word would be the last word, did you?
