Li Banfeng had a wonderful dream all night; in it, a goose feather seemed to be constantly tickling his ear.
Exiting the Portable Residence, he found it was noon again. Li Banfeng realized he desperately needed a way to tell time. Once he returned to Yuezhou, these matters would be simple to resolve; a smartphone could handle all of them. It was getting late, and he wondered if he could still buy a train ticket.
Li Banfeng stepped out of the Portable Residence and walked a few hundred meters down the main street when he suddenly felt a strange reaction in his body. He couldn't quite describe the reaction. He scanned the streets for any vehicle—a horse-drawn carriage or a rickshaw, anything would do. As he looked around, he noticed passersby glancing at him from time to time.
What are they looking at me for? he wondered. Dressed in a suit, leather shoes, and a top hat, I'm looking quite respectable today!
The passersby held no malice; they were merely curious.
