Chapter 35 - Small Revelations 2

Echo disappeared from Norvin's view for a moment and then reappeared beside the couch. He looked back at Norvin and gestured with his white-gloved hand for him to come have a seat, fingers still moving as the white glove transformed into the armored gauntlet of the ShadowHawk exosuit from Image Comics.

"Teleporting? That couch was like, seven feet away from you, man... You're being a little bit extra, Echo."

"Err-herm..."

Echo was speechless for a moment, clearly caught off guard that Norvin had called him out on his flashy display. "...Just come sit down, Norvin."

Norvin rolled his eyes and strode over to take a seat. His butt hit the cushion, which felt like a cool, extremely comfortable, plush cloud to him. He wiggled his bottom around on the seat dramatically while staring at Echo without blinking.

"Just getting comfy, are we?" Echo said in a deep voice, then suddenly shifted into the female form of Kamen Rider Nadeshiko, striking a provocative pose and raising a finger to where the mouth would normally be under the helmet.

Norvin stopped wiggling and a weird look started forming on his face, his brow furrowing.

"Well, I was comfortable, you turd..."

Echo shrank down and took on the form of Speedy Cerviche from 'Samurai Pizza Cats', mimicking Speedy's voice perfectly. "Hey, kid, you're the one who added that form to the Holodex in the first place."

Norvin snorted. "You know, just as well as I do, Echo, that the wearer of the Holodex was supposed to be able to share his powers with his friends—that's why I have a ton of girl Sentai and Rangers in there too. You know, so different Megazords could be summoned with a full team. Stop cherry-picking."

"Is this better?" Echo asked in a cute, feminine voice, then grew again, transforming into the Pink Time Force Ranger.

Norvin raised an eyebrow. "It's... better. But only by a little. You reminded me of Dr. Girlfriend from 'The Venture Brothers' before."

Echo giggled softly, then suddenly took on a more serious tone while shifting into the black, blue and red armored 'Yoshimitsu' from Tekken 8. Norvin had most of the different armors that the space ninja from Tekken utilized throughout the Tekken game series, as entries in the Holodex. "Oh, come on. You gotta admit it Vin, I keep things interesting. Besides, if I didn't mess around a little, I'd be just a boring voice in your head."

Norvin leaned back, crossing his arms and rolling his eyes. "Watching Yoshimitsu shrug his shoulders while talking to me is interesting enough already. It's fine, just don't be weird... like that. On purpose."

Echo's form flickered, shifting into the red, gold and silver Tokon-Ironman. His voice echoed with a strange robotic resonance. "Weird? You think I'm weird? Come on kid, I'm the epitome of cool and style." Right when he finished saying this, a glint of light reflected off the V-fin adorning Echo's current helmet as if to be the confirming punctuation of the sentence he just said, looking extremely cool at that moment.

Norvin's eyes flickered with a hint of approval. "Okay, yea, that was pretty dope Echo."

Echo's form shimmered, slimming down from the sharp Ironman suit and into the smaller shape of 'Footsoldier D' from the 'Reject Ranger' series. "Anyways... Enough fooling around." Echo's voice was barely above a whisper as he spoke into Norvin's ear and used D's 'Duster' powers to turn into a cloud of black dust, wafting past Norvin to reform on the couch beside him.

The henchmen known as 'Dusters' in that series had bodies made of dust, making them more or less immortal as well as top tier shape shifters.

The black dust swirled and condensed, quickly reforming into Echo's previous shape—except now, one hand was a comically large TV remote.

Norvin sighed, rubbing the back of his neck and then shaking his head at Echo's antics. "Yeah, yeah. 'Enough fooling around...' I get it. Press play already."

"Tough crowd..." Echo moved the downward pointing index finger of his normal hand to high above the play button of his morphed remote control hand. He proceeded to bring the finger down hard on the 'button' with a stiff motion, still messing around.

Just before Norvin could complain, the large screen started to flicker to life, drawing his attention. Before a proper image could form, Norvin was nudged by Echo. Norvin looked back over and was met with the view of Daredevil from Marvel, holding a steaming bowl of delicious looking popcorn, the freshly popped smell was starting to reach his nose.

Echo produced a wide smile, "What? You think you're the only one who can make something out of nearly nothing?" He held up the bowl towards Norvin, which Norvin accepted, taking a handful of the buttery, salty snack.

Echo nodded, his form staying still as Daredevil, finally not changing just so that he could snack. He brought some popcorn up to his mouth and threw it in. He then snapped his fingers, there were sparks of golden light and two tall glasses full of soda and ice appeared, one floating in front of Norvin and the other hovering by Echo's mouth.

Norvin grinned and reminded himself to question Echo later about not saying anything about his ability to produce snacks till now.

As they both started snacking, a cosmic backdrop focused on the screen. A streak of light was suddenly visible amid the stars, slowing down quickly and reaching a cruising speed.

A group of seven were inside of a medium sized, white and golden colored galactic level battle-class spaceship, they had just dropped out of hyper drive and were now orbiting around a small sized, dull grey and blue planet, maybe around half the size of Earth.

One of them sported a long white beard and hair, he had on a luxurious looking mages robe, overtop of a thin black combat suit. His face still looked like he was middle aged even though he had the hair color of an elder. This person giving off magician vibes was exceptionally tall, and despite being hidden in the flowing white robes you could tell that he was well built underneath them. The man's eyes were a deep emerald color and gentle, almost unnoticeable streams of colored magical energy constantly leaked from their corners.

On his shoulder rested a small creature that resembled what would have been called a wood nymph back on Earth, it looked like a small green skinned female child with auburn leaves for hair, it didn't seem to have any private bits, so it wore no clothing.

It rested lazily, hugging the tall mages neck and it looked slightly unhappy to be there.

"When will we be leaving?"

This creature loved it's master, but it hated space travel. It much preferred to be basking in the sun back in one of the many Atlas-run outdoor botanical laboratory spaces on Earth.

"Ooooh-ho, how many times are you going to ask that Sylvanthia? We just arrived and still need to terraform this rock. I'm about to release the planetary dimensional displacement shield your master requested me to make... Even as a top tier shipwright, it took me three years to build the prototype and seven more to make the real deal. Not to mention developing the five individual energy furnaces strong enough to absorb, analyze and then propagate, creating fixed pseudo stars made up of nourishing super energy?"

"That's right, Magus. Why did you bring this brat along again?"

Two figures looked backwards from their seats at the control panel of the star ship they were in to stare at the little green creature, one wore a white and blue, streamlined mechanical battle suit that had blue and gold energy circuits pulsing this way and that on its surface, you couldn't see his expression as he was wearing a matching helmet with a glowing golden visor.

Silvery-blue, electromagnetic energy bolts danced and crackled along the exterior of the advanced mechanical combat suit, nearly looking like they were alive.

The other figure was a humanoid of average height but he had exaggeratedly large, densely packed muscles and olive colored skin. He wore a tight blue set of muscle-enhancing pugilist equipment of the highest level, it more or less looked like a bodysuit with black and orange armored pieces covering the chest, along with armored gauntlets, leg guards and boots.

One of the vicious looking man's most noticeable features were the two large horns poking out of his forehead, giving him a demonic, beastly look; that coupled with his angry red pupils, intense demeanor and aura made him a perfect example of what the Oni race was.

The Majority of the Oni race were muscle-headed pugilists, this one happened to be sitting at the very top. He was their Alpha, the leader of their race.

His head was shaved and he had a ferocious looking grin on his face, bearing his sharp teeth at the creature sitting on the mages shoulder.

As Norvin watched the show, he immediately noticed how close the battle armor of this fierce looking character resembled the gear space warriors in Dragon Ball Z wore, it looked utterly tough, yet flexible.

The green nymph called Sylvanthia pulled down on an eyelid with one finger of her free hand while simultaneously sticking out her tongue at the two staring at her.

"Aetherion, Jet, stop bullying Magus' familiar, you fools... Sylvanthia, we will all be descending down to the surface to enrich this small planet and release the Meta-Beasts that Kharusha and myself have been developing for so long. Isn't that right, Kharusha?"

A sweet, soft voice with a hint arrogance in it rebuked the two, causing Sylvanthia to cross her arms and look triumphant while sitting down on Magus shoulder and crossing her legs as well, like a little boss.

Leaning against the cockpits wall opposite Magus and the delighted Sylvanthia, was a tall, curvy yet slender young woman with an ethereal and regal presence, holding a feathery ball of yellow fluff.

She had remarkably long, flowing silvery-blonde hair that cascaded down her back, styled with somewhat gentle waves, giving her a graceful and otherworldly look. Her hair framed her face softly, with some strands falling over her shoulders in the front.

Her eyes were large and striking, a deep shade of violet, alluring with a hint of mystery and danger, reflecting her role as a powerful 'spirit-king' of the Elfin tribe. Her facial features were delicate and refined, with a calm and confident expression on her face.

The outfit she wore was both functional and elegant. She wore a sleeveless, high-collared blue jacket with gold trim and intricate designs, emphasizing her noble stature. Beneath it, she had a white, form-fitting top that accentuated her lithe figure, leaving her midriff exposed. Her short skirt was also blue with gold accents, and she wore black thigh-high stockings with fitted armor plates hugging the front of them, adding to her look which bordered on sexiness and combat readiness. On her arms, she sported matching gauntlet arm guards, which were both decorative and protective like the greaves.

As if to finish her sentence earlier, the little ball of fluff in her hands lifted its cute, bird like-head and called out towards Jet and Aetherion's direction. "Wark!"

"See? hehehe, this little guy agrees too." The beauty giggled and smiled at the adorable little fuzzball, tickling it under its chin, causing it to coo and warble in delight.

'Tha-lira...' A mesmerizing, deep voice entered all of their heads at that moment. Psychic energy had opened a mindscape chat bubble in the spaceship, psychics have the ability to create voice channels between individuals or over a blanket area, resembling the difference between a private or public chat room.

"Just Lira is fine, sigh... How many times do I have to tell you to chill out, to not be so... formal, little Khar-Khar?"

'You play around too much, princess. I'll be done with adjusting the temperament of the specimens in the cargo hold soon. Then I will join the rest of you in the command room... Jet, leave the plant familiar alone, Magus says it's magic abilities are crucial to the plan.'

The voice appeared in their heads again, causing the gruff Oni named Jet to concentrate his energy and cut himself out of the mental conversation. "...Stupid psychic." He muttered while turning back around, leaning back in his chair and putting his feet up above the control panel of the spaceship, on more or less what would have been considered its dashboard.

This prompted the man beside him in the blue and white mechanical battlesuit to point his arm a few inches away from Jet's face. The hand, wrist and forearm turned into a large cannon in the blink of an eye, and a pool of bright blue energy started to gather at its business end, causing the ship's A.I. to immediately respond.

Warning!

Warning!

High energy reaction detected!

"Get your dirty pugilist boots off my controls you second rate wrestler!"

"What? You want to fight Aetherion!?" Jet moved his head closer to the glowing psionic energy that was gathering at the mouth of the cannon.

"Bring it on!" Jet said while showing off his sharp teeth.

The little green girl seemed to grow more pale with every second that frightening energy condensed itself right under the nose of the mean, baldie-uncle, neither he nor the blue and white metal-clad man showed any signs of worry or care about fighting and destroying the ship with the rest of them on it!
