"Are we... fighting him?"
"Should we try?"
"We can't just stand here and wait to die!"
After a brief internal struggle, over a hundred Yuri recruits raised their hands, pressing their index fingers to their temples in preparation for a concentrated psychic attack on the silent Omega.
Tu~Tu!!
With a sound resembling spitting, hundreds of psychic fireballs shot toward Omega, who continued to stroll leisurely.
Buzz~! Buzz—!
However, the psychic flames were entirely absorbed by the energy shield generated by Omega's Primarch power armor.
Despite the recruits' continuous attacks, they failed to cause even a scratch.
As Omega, a towering figure who could block out the sunlight, approached the front-line recruits, the ominous red glow from his helmet's visor intensified.
"Ah!!"
"Run!!"
The recruits in the front completely lost their courage, their terrified screams echoing as they turned and fled. The ones slightly further back followed suit.
How could they fight him?
Their attacks couldn't even penetrate his defenses. Despite their loyalty as Yuri's apprentices and disciples, they lacked the nerve to confront a being so far beyond comprehension in the Red Alert 2 universe.
Besides, they were just low-level soldiers, unskilled in combat, and saw no point in sacrificing their lives needlessly.
Surely, once the main forces gathered, with heavy artillery and tanks, they could handle Omega without issue.
For now, preserving their lives was the priority.
But just as they turned to flee, before they could even start running—
Rou~————!!!
A sonic boom exploded among them.
Boom—!!!
The shockwave blew a massive hole in a nearby factory wall.
The ensuing explosions within the factory sent flames soaring into the sky, forming a small mushroom cloud.
Whoosh—!!
The shockwave from the explosion knocked the fleeing recruits off their feet.
Fortunately, the factory wasn't a nuclear power plant; otherwise, the entire center of Cairo would have been flattened, rendering it uninhabitable for a century.
The "culprit" behind the explosion was none other than Omega, who had thrown his spear.
The Pale Spear, a dual-bladed weapon forged by Samuel Young himself, had been hurled forward with restrained force by Omega, accelerating to four times the speed of sound.
It pierced through over a dozen recruits along its path, their bodies exploding and shredding apart, before breaching the outer wall of a vehicle factory.
The Pale Spear, controlled by Omega's will, then unleashed a blast of pure psychic energy, triggering the factory's detonation.
Remarkably, the psychic energy mitigated much of the explosion's lethality.
Otherwise, the recruits and even nearby civilians on the streets would have had their internal organs shattered.
At this moment, Omega raised his hand slightly, recalling the blazing Pale Spear from the fiery ruins of the factory.
Gripping the weapon in his right hand, he crouched down in front of a terrified Yuri recruit and asked in a metallic voice:
"Tell me Yuri X's location. Speak, and I'll let you go."
"I... I..."
But the recruit stammered, unable to respond.
Omega stood up, lifting his foot and positioning it over the recruit's head. Then, he stomped down forcefully.
Bang~!
Splat—!
The recruit's skull shattered into fragments, brain matter and blood splattering everywhere.
"Don't kill me!! The Supreme's avatar is in the Capitol Building! The Capitol Building in the city center!!"
Witnessing his companion's brutal death up close, another recruit immediately spilled the location of Yuri X, the overseer of all operations in Cairo.
"I already knew."
Omega's calm response left everyone stunned.
???
The remaining recruits were utterly bewildered.
"Detected local human survivors. Preparing evacuation assistance."
"Threat neutralized. Continuing forward."
"This is Assault Squad 102. We've rendezvoused with the Primarch."
As the recruits struggled to comprehend Omega's motives, heavily armed clone soldiers equipped with full-exoskeleton combat suits arrived to secure the area.
Communicating in nasal, robotic tones, the clones efficiently coordinated their actions, demonstrating teamwork far superior to earlier models.
Without waiting for orders, the clones restrained the recruits, handcuffing and disarming them to ensure no resistance.
Omega, watching the scene with interest, added:
"You are now expendable experimental material for the Human Empire, classified as D-Class personnel.
Recently, we've acquired numerous biological samples, and your timely 'contributions' help offset material shortages.
As a Primarch of the Empire, I sincerely thank you for your sacrifice."
Expendable experimental material? D-Class personnel?
Though the recruits didn't fully understand these terms, they knew they weren't good.
Omega's questioning was nothing more than psychological torment.
Once these recruits were handed over to the Empire's Biotech Division, subjected to live surgeries by researchers, they would come to know a life worse than death.
The Biotech Division, known for developing knights rivaling medieval Astartes and alien hybrids praised as "perfect weapons," constantly sought D-Class personnel for experiments.
The Yuri recruits, considered vile scum for aiding their empire, were the perfect candidates for such trials.
This initiative to capture and repurpose Yuri units originated from Alphaerius and Omega themselves. Their newly established Legion sought to strengthen relations with the Biotech Division.
The clones in Cairo were part of Alpha's auxiliary biological weapons. Unlike Terminators or Predators, the Legion favored costlier clone soldiers for maintenance and repair.
Meanwhile, Omega, handing over the scene to the clones, activated his power armor's optical camouflage and vanished.
From the perspective of the Legion fleet in low orbit, the coordinated assault across Cairo unfolded seamlessly.
Clone soldiers, Terminators wielding plasma pulse rifles, and Predators led systematic sweeps of Yuri's forces.
Despite their vast numbers, Yuri's recruits were no match for the advanced plasma weaponry and rapid-firing Gauss rounds.
Even ambush attempts by Yuri's Brutes occasionally succeeded but yielded only minor results.
Most battles ended swiftly, with Yuri's forces overwhelmed.
The clones proved resistant to viral snipers, their armor shielding them from infection. Those infected faced immediate termination via implanted neural chips.
From their lofty office in the Capitol Building, Yuri X observed the carnage below with unsettling calm.
