Chapter 15 - word of the wise

"Gah! I Hate this! Stupid training what's the point why can't I just swing it like this and be done with this stupid exercise!" Two Black crow's that where about to start making a nest ontop of an old statue of a sea turtle, quickly flew away startled from the shouting of a young boy coming from inside the confines of the turtle hermit school Dojo.

Inside an open spaced hall, with bamboo padded flooring stood a trembling bare chested green haired blindfolded boy garbed in but a simple cotton black pants and strange red straps that wrapped around both his wrists and ankles.

drenched with sweat from head to toe all while being weighed down by a giant purple turtle shell held together with two simple ropes attached to his back, he gritted his teeth as he slammed his bamboo sword to the ground, heaving with rage zoro roared in frustration again.

Glancing at the young boy, all whilst laying down on his side while reading the latest edition of Ecchi Ecchi—Ehm literature was a bald headed old man, with white eyebrows and a sharp mustache garbed in black robes with silver smoking turtles embroidered masterfully on, his grey faded eyes shifted between the thrown sword and zoro endless curses before he spoke.

"So much anger, for one with such a small body tell me how do you contain it all?"his light hearted voice reached zoros ears in an instant, as zoro silently glared towards the old man, internally he could almost here the young brat teeth grinding against each other in the silence of his dojo as he felt the anger hidden behind the cloth that hid his eyes.

'Feisty.' The old man thought, but he could see clear as day the child frustrations still that anger worried him….so much anger for one so young never led to anything good, placing one hand to his cheek and the other flipping the pages of his literature he chuckled.

'Ohh master toad Sage, you work never fails to impress.' The old man thought.

Instrumently his instructions to his young student where simple and straightforward for any competent sword master that is, to 'See', oh the look on the young moss heads face was hilarious when I first told him that he looked at me as if I grew two heads, but as his master I couldn't just let him suffer on his own twiddling those chubby thumbs together, so like any reasonable master I guided him.

'Stop focusing on the literal words you fool! And focus on what they mean, the aspects they carry let everything fade in the background, clear your mind, your thoughts and just let everything go your failures, regrets, flaws, mistakes, struggles your need to have everything this instant and look within and once you've achieved this it is then you will have truly understand what it means to 'See'.'

That is all I could say to help him on this path, anymore would hinder his progress as much as I wish to help him more I would do more harm than good.

The old man reached behind him, pulling out a rice cake before taking a chunk out of it, chewing loudly to the irritation of zoro, zoro spoke."master this is stupid, and a waste of time I can't do it."

"Crunch…..Crunch.....Crunch."zoros arms shook, under the old man watch who just chewed louder just as young zoro was about to utter another word yet his master interrupted him first.

"Tell me zoro, why was it that you came to the house of the turtle hermit school." The old man gaze reflected zoro lone figure.

"Wasent it you who knelt down three days and three nights, even when I rejected you time and time again."the old man, voice came strong like the wind pushing against zoro who still remained silent.

"That boy that I met that night who's eyes burned with fire, who's legs bruised and bloodied who's will stood strong like tempered iron, broke through my shell, that I have carved with a lifetime of hardships, you say you can't do it I say you can! Cause you are a disciple of the great turtle hermit school, student of The Turtle Sage Miyamoto Jogo." The old man stood infront of zoro, placing a hand on his shoulder gripping it gently as he uttered.

"And my eyes have never known deceit."like a leaf falling that was all it took for Zoro, as he hugged him tightly burrying himself into the old man chest.

"My young student, you will 'see.'"

"Hah…."out of breath panting violently as gush of hot steam, escaped his mouth zoros fingers bled his nails destroyed, as he dug his bloody fingertips into the cracks of the mountain he was scaling, his turtle shell weighed heavy on him aswell as his straps as he bit down on a branch forcefully pulling himself up more with the strength of his jaw before, pulling his finger out of the cracks and pushing his feet quickly against the rocks and boosting himself up.

Jamming his fingers into the nearest cracks, and using his feet to get a foothold on anything he could he gritted his teeth as he held on for dear life as his foot slipped, his fingers spluttered with blood as the pain was immense.

'No,No,No.' angrily repeating in his mind, as his legs flailed around the air this was not how he was going to meet his end not in a million years, he still needed to make that samurai pay for defiling his master home HIS HOME!

crack! Zoros eyes widened, it was as if time slowed as he watched the cracks his finger where jammed in increase in size before he felt his hold loosen but it was to late to do anything, he watched in agony as his fingers slowly slipped out of the cracks, and he came falling down with it.
