Kim Min-ho POV (Point Of View)
***Flashback***
Yuna and Min-ho were rushed to the hospital, Taemin stayed by his mum, not leaving her even though Min-ho's mum tried to pull him out. He eventually agreed to leave her alone when she went to surgery.
"She'll be fine. Your mum is very strong." Min-ho's mum whispered in Taemin's ears, holding back tears. "Promise?" He whispered. She stayed silent, not knowing how to promise him that because she is also unsure.
'Yuna is in this condition because of me. If only I had my eyes on Min-ho, none of this would have happened.' She thought to herself while tears fell from her eyes.
Min-ho was in his ward, healing from the minor injuries he sustained while Yuna was still in the operating room fighting for her life. His dad sat by his side, brushing his hands on his son's head.
Min-ho's mum entered the ward, holding Taemin's hand. Min-ho's dad turned to them, he looked at Taemin with pity and he stretched out his hands and Taemin ran to him with tears in his eyes. "My mum will be okay right?"
Min-ho's dad stayed silent and gave his wife a look before looking back at the sobbing Taemin in his arms, "Yes, she will."
Min-ho shifted on the bed and he opened his eyes,"Dad? Mum? Taemin?" He called out. Taemin looked at him in happiness, "You're awake! You're awake!" He squealed. Then he cleaned his tears and moved to his friend.
"I was starting to get scared. Both you and my mummy were asleep, and it looked like you were in a deep one and I didn't want to wake you up. Now that you've woken up, I am sure that my mum will be awake very soon." Taemin rambled, smiling at his friend.
"Really? That's good then." Min-ho smiled. The nurse entered Min-ho's ward and took his vitals. While she was taking his vitals, Min-ho's mum bent down to Taemin, "Why did you say that?" She whispered into his ears, referring to what he said earlier about his mum.
"That's because I don't want Min-ho to worry." He whispered back. Min-ho's mum smiled and gave him a pat on his head before she stood up.
A knock was heard on the door. A man walked in and he stared at Taemin in shock. "Oh? Min Beom-jun, what are you doing here?" Min-ho's father asked his friend/business partner who stood at the door staring at Taemin in shock.
Min-ho's mum stood in front of Taemin and gave Min Beom-jun a forced smile, "Here to see Min-ho?"
Beom-jun didn't say anything but walked over to Taemin with tears in his eyes, "My son..." He trailed off. Taemin raised a brow at him and shook his head, "You might be mistaken sir. I don't have a dad."
"No, you do. I'm your dad." Beom-jun said with a smile on his face. Taemin looked at Min-ho's mum in confusion, looking for answers but she just smiled down at him and gave her husband a quick look.
"Uh can I have a word with you Beom-jun?" Min-ho's mum said, leaving Taemin's side. Beom-jun nodded and gave Taemin a sad look before stepping outside of the ward.
Min-ho's mum gave her husband a quick look, "Watch over them. I'll be right back." Min-ho's dad nodded and she stepped outside to talk with Beom-jun.
"What are you doing here?" She whispered, furrowing her brows. "I came here to get my son." Beom-jun replied.
Eun-kyung, Min-ho's mum scoffed and rolled her eyes before focusing on Beomjun, "Your son? Are you being serious right now? You denied him being your son for years even when Yuna kept saying that he is your son, so come on, what changed your mind?"
"Yuna sent me a mail of Taemin's DNA report which showed that he was mine. I just saw the mail today and I came as soon as I found out." He explained.
Eun-kyung stared at him in disbelief, "After ruining Yuna's acting career, sued her for defamation because she said that Taemin is your child, now you come here saying he is your son? No he isn't. He is Yuna's child."
"I was wrong then. I can fix everything. I'll tell the public that Yuna wasn't lying and both of us can parent him together. Everything would be okay." Beom-jun rambled while Eun-kyung shook her head in disappointment.
"No. I can't allow it. Taemin is not going to stay with someone who denied him all these years and now that Yuna..." She trailed off, not wanting to say anything anymore.
"What is it? What happened to Yuna?" Beom-jun asked frantically. Eun-kyung shook her head and was about to step inside the ward but paused when she saw Taemin by the door, staring at them.
He stood there in silence, his eyes not leaving Beom-jun's, "Dad? So you are my father?" His small voice asked. Tears filled Beom-jun's eyes and he nodded before kneeling down to Taemin's level, "Yes, I'm your dad."
"But my mum doesn't have a husband so how can you be my dad?" Taemin asked, raising an eyebrow. Beom-jun stayed silent then looked up at Eun-kyung for some help but she stayed silent glaring at him.
"That's because you're a bastard." A small voice spoke up. Everyone turned to the owner of the voice and Eun-kyung eyes widened when she saw Arin standing there with balloons and a bouquet of flowers in her tiny hands.
"Arin!" Eun-kyung yelled. Arin stood there innocently, "What is wrong Aunt? I saw the word somewhere. A child whose parents aren't married is a bastard."
"Hey, he is not a bastard. Don't call him that." Eun-kyung warned. "Is it a bad word?" Arin asked. "Yes it is." Beom-jun finally spoke up.
"Oh, then I'm sorry for calling you that Taemin." She apologised to Taemin. Taemin stared at his father, deep in thought. He huffed and went back into the ward.
Eun-kyung gave Beom-jun a sharp glare, "I don't want to see you near-" "Excuse me, are you one of the patient family members? The patient that is currently in the operating room?" A nurse spoke up, cutting Eun-kyung off.
"Oh yes, I'm her friend. Is she okay?" She asked anxiously. "Right now, she is out of danger but she would need to be put in the intensive care ward." The nurse replied. "Thank you so much." Eun-kyung thanked the nurse, tears filled her eyes.
She walked into the ward with Arin, leaving Beom-jun outside and rushed to the kids and her husband. "Taemin, your mum is going to be okay. Yuna is out of danger." She cried.
"Can I go meet her now?" Taemin asked with joy. "Yeah, can we go meet her?" Min-ho asked. "No you can't. She is in the intensive care ward and can't have visitors because she just left the operating room." Eun-kyung told the boys.
They shoulders dropped in disappointment but they quickly understood the matter at hand. "I would like to thank her for saving me." Min-ho said with a smile. "I'm sure you'll do that soon." Soo-hyun reassured his son.
But unknown to them, Min-ho couldn't even thank her because she was announced dead an hour after....
