Gray was still pissed as he stood in the ruins of what was once a city. The once bustling metropolis lay in absolute silence, a testament to the overwhelming power of Gray's squad once they had transformed into their Ozaru forms. The towering skyscrapers had been reduced to mere pebbles, scattered across the area like a child's playthings after an angry tantrum. The once gleaming glass and steel structures were now shards and twisted metal, with the windows being smashed in completely. It was as if a giant hand had swiped across the city, knocking over buildings and leaving a path of destruction that stretched as far as the eye could see.
Fuck, I thought about a hand knocking over buildings and it reminded me of the prick.
The streets were now a mixture of craters and debris. The air was thick with dust, which had mostly settled now as the moon had just finished passing overhead. Gray stood on the ground in front of the destruction, waiting as the remaining members of his squad slowly started to fly back over, having just transformed back into their humanoid forms as the moon passed overhead.
I should've joined in. It would've helped relieve some of my anger at that fuckin' bitch ass-
In case it wasn't obvious, Gray was rather upset at the 'god' who had stolen his kill.
That fucker was talking about giving me power and making me the strongest, but he had to yoink my kill like a pussy!
Gray wasn't the most honorable of Saiyans, and he wasn't one to get upset about not having a fair one-on-one fight, but a line had been crossed. There was an unrivaled annoyance that came from doing all the work, being so close to finishing his quest and getting the rewards, and then having a literal big-ass monster appear out of nowhere and take the credit.
Gray might've been able to let out some of that rage on the city, but unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, it didn't take a squad of Ozaru's long to take down a city - even if it was a pretty large one.
After Gray's angry denial of "God's" proposal, the mysterious massive monster had disappeared just as quickly as he appeared. Gray probably would've made it back to the city in time to participate in the massacre, but he admittedly spent a few too many minutes stomping on the dust that had once been Homeless Emperor in hopes that the system would randomly accept that he'd been the one to do all the work.
It didn't work, so Gray was just left pissed off with no XP or coins being gained.
What a waste of a quest. What a waste of a 3 billion power level opponent! How was I supposed to predict that he'd randomly turn into dust?!
"...You people are really something, you know?" Gray was pulled out of his thoughts as Bang walked up behind him, the older man chuckling lightly, "I've seen many monsters throughout my life, some even bigger than your transformations, but I don't think I've ever seen a city be destroyed like this."
"Our race is sent to massacre entire planets when we're infants," Gray said with a smirk, causing Bang's eyes to widen a bit, "Obviously, not a planet this strong, but this is nothing for trained Saiyans."
Gray wasn't just being cocky either - the Ozaru transformation was really just that strong. Despite Homeless Emperor being an opponent that even an S-Class recruit or Elite Saiyan would struggle against, the ability to transform meant that even a squad of A-Class recruits would've been able to take down the planet.
Which is all the more concerning. If this planet and Harro are weak enough that a squad of transforming A-Class recruits could take them down, how fuckin' strong are the other planets to make this a King Vegeta-tier mission?
"Dear god," Bang chuckled lightly, pissing Gray off again at the second word.
"You know god?" Gray asked bluntly, glancing over at Bang.
"God?" Bang blinked, looking back at him strangely, "I didn't take you to be the religious type."
"No, not 'God' like that," Gray shook his head dryly, "Like, a big-ass silver guy floating in the sky."
Bang just continued to look at him strangely, "...Yes, I think God is normally depicted as a floating being that watches from above."
"N-No, like, he's not 'God' like that!" Gray sighed, just shaking his head, "He's a monster who calls himself 'god.' Whatever, you don't know him then."
"You… met a floating creature named 'god' recently?" Bang pressed, looking at him curiously, "That might be rather concerning, no?"
"Yeah, he was bigger than the whole planet, and all glowing and silver and shit. He offered me 'unlimited power' or something like that," Gray just shrugged. "He wasn't real, though, he was just an illusion. So, I'm not sure if the actual guy is that big."
I sure hope not. The person behind the illusion, this 'god' person, might not even be strong.
The one behind the illusion was able to turn Homeless Emperor into a pile of dust, but Gray figured it had something to do with the offer of power he had given Gray.
If he was really strong enough to turn people to dust whenever he felt like it, then I'd be a pile of dust right now.
Assuming Gray blatantly told the monster he'd kill him and yet was still standing and unharmed, it meant that 'god' wasn't as strong or scary as he seemed.
He's probably a magic user, and already had contact with Homeless Emperor before he turned him to dust. Maybe Homeless Emperor accepted the power offer, and that gave 'god' power over him? Hell, maybe Homeless Emperor wasn't even real.
Though, if the man had been a creation that 'god' had made, then that was a bit concerning. The mage wasn't scarily powerful, but he was still half of Gray's power level.
"An illusion of a huge, glowing man appeared in the sky?" Asia spoke up, only catching the final bit as she landed on the ground in front of him, "That sounds like a coming to God moment! I'm happy for you, Gray!"
Gray just looked blandly back at the woman's bright and happy expression, not even bothering to try and correct her.
"Your hallucinations aside," Celia said as she joined the group as well, her tone a tiny bit teasing, "The entire city has been destroyed, and most of the mages are dead. Fubuki found Zombieman in the rubble, and is bringing him over now."
"Good work," Gray hummed, nodding approvingly.
I can worry about this 'god' guy later. For now, I'll take this mission one planet at a time.
"We'll grab him, rest for a bit, and then head to the next planet," Gray hummed, glancing at Celia with a raised eyebrow. "The next planet is Mam, right? The one with the martial artists?"
The next planet of the seven, Mam, was actually the one Gray was rather looking forward to conquering.
Even if no one is crazy strong there, someone will definitely be able to give me a good fight.
"Indeed," Celia nodded at his words, "Multiple heroes and Harroians went there after the coalition was made because a monster there was interested in sharing his martial arts. Since the coalition fell apart, there was no contact with any of the heroes there."
According to the briefing Gray's squad had gotten from Busho and Sekingar, a monster named 'Gouketsu' had asked the Hero Association to send heroes to Mam soon after the planet coalition formed, with his reasoning being that he'd train them in martial arts so they could help fight against the aliens. A lot of Harro's greatest marital artists had gone as well, eager to see if he really could teach them, or to challenge him.
From the little intel the Hero Association had, it seemed the planet was largely uninhabited except for a small group of martial arts-using monsters, as well as the heroes and Harroians that had gone over. It'd be a relatively simple planet to take over, but-
It's a planet full of martial artists!
Even if the strongest one was only around Homeless Emperor's power level, just them being adept at martial arts meant that Gray was hoping to get a good fight.
They don't even have to be good! Just give me a decent one!
Gray was starting to wonder if he was becoming too eager for a strong opponent. His Saiyan body was itching for a good fight, even though his brain knew that having an easy mission with weak opponents was much safer overall.
"Here he is," Gray glanced over his shoulder as Fubuki came walking over from within the ruins of the city with a man walking next to her.
The man was rather plain-looking, with short black hair, a decently handsome face with a large forehead, and large eyes that seemed to perpetually be wide. He looked to be in his mid-20s, and was wearing a torn up black shirt and shorts that showcased his decently muscular physique.

The man's stats looked like they'd belong to someone close to double his power level.
Considering what Bang said about him before, he must just have a shit ton of END and not a lot of STR or AGI. His high KI is impressive though.
Gray's lips twitched up into a light grin as he saw the man.
I missed out on a lot of XP and coins on this planet, but this guy looks decent. It was worth it.
"Thanks for the save," Zombieman said casually, cocking an eyebrow over at Bang, "These guys don't look like heroes."
"They're not," Bang shook his head easily, "It's a complicated situation. I'll explain it to you later."
Gray blinked as he realized something while the two men were speaking.
Is that a…
"Gun?" Gray deadpanned, pointing at the small handgun sitting in Zombieman's waistband. It was barely hanging on as the shorts were torn up, and the gun itself looked scraped up and chipped, but Gray could definitely tell it was a firearm.
"You use a gun?" Gray deadpanned bluntly at the man, his hopes for a strong ally dying.
Guns have been useless since OG Dragon Ball!
Anyone with even a double-digit power level could pretty easily deal with a typical gun.
"What about it?" Zombieman raised an eyebrow at him challengingly.
"You kill things with that gun?" Gray asked dryly, "Does it shoot lasers or somethin'?"
"Nah, it fires something better," Zombieman grinned widely, and Gray's lips twitched up again.
Right! He seems confident - it's gotta be some type of special gun, right?
"Monster killing bullets," Zombieman finished, and Gray's grin almost dropped.
"...Monster killing bullets?" He asked dryly, "Those are different from regular bullets, right?"
"Maybe," Gray's face completely dropped as Zombieman shrugged, "They look normal, but they kill monsters."
Well, at least he can regenerate. He'll be a good meatshield.
"Whatever, explain to him the plan, and then get some rest," Gray sighed, nodding at Bang. "We're leaving soon. I'm not wasting any time on this boss rush."
