Technoblade.
That was his name.
And what it meant?
It meant trouble for the new nation of L'Manburg.
Technoblade was a self-professed anarchist, an anti-governmental warrior who had almost never lost a battle.
And if he caught word of what Wilbur and Tommy were doing, establishing L'Manburg with themselves at its head, he would almost certainly be against it. After all, they weren't really even allowing the people to vote. Not that Dream thought it mattered.
As an anarchist, Technoblade's primary interest was in removing governments.
Dream settled on the top of the newly repaired van in the middle of L'Manburg's grounds. It was currently being rebuilt from the crater it had become after Nightmare and the members of the Dream SMP Army had blown it up. All in all, they were doing a good job of turning a scar on the world back into liveable land.
He considered trying to warn the members of L'Manburg. He knew Tommy and Wilbur knew about Technoblade, after all, they were raised together like brothers, but he wasn't sure exactly what they had heard about his recent activities.
Dream had known Technoblade as a vicious warlord, an unkillable warrior who destroyed everything in his life. He assumed, however, that he wasn't always like that. It would be a very sad life indeed to be that steely even as a child.
Dream paused, looking down at Tommy. He was looking up at Wilbur, smiling and waving. He really should be working...
But no. Despite his impactful actions, Tommy was still a child. Fourteen years was still young, but already he was a revolutionary.
What a world.
Dream hopped off the van, grunting when he landed on the newly replaced dirt. He now felt more physical than ever, and he couldn't even float anymore. Though in all honesty, Dream liked going about on his feet. It made him feel more grounded. More present.
Dream strolled over to the edge of the work site. It was strange to see the dirt being filled in like this. It was like the edge of a cliff, standing up tall over a drop that seemed infinite.T he fall of two blocks to where the remnants of the crater were was the time since yesterday.
Had it only been yesterday? It was surreal, this feeling of lightness. A glaze lay over all of L'Manburg, a glaze of happiness and satisfaction being exuded by the inhabitants. It made everything seem light and joyful, even the grass.
Dream knelt down and placed his hand on the grass, running his bare skin over the springy blades and watching them rise up again after he passed.
What a different day from yesterday, when depression had hung over the land like a fog of darkness, making everyone feel alone even as they huddled together. Slowly L'Manburg's ground was being restored like a metaphor. Every block was another step towards ridding themselves of Nightmare's mark. Like the grass, this world was recovering, throwing off the impressions made by the short-lived war.
Dream had no doubt that he would find the Dream SMP Army rebuilding the land that their first trap had blown up in front of Tommy's hut, the new Embassy of L'Manburg. That had started all of this.
One arrow, just like the one that had continued the war here, igniting the second trap set by Nightmare and his allies.
Like the one that had ended this.
Tommy's arrow. Dream looked over at Tommy again. In this, Nightmare had been partially correct when he had dubbed L'Manburg L'Manchildburg. It was the dream of a child, defended by a child.
A child that had had to grow up. There was no obvious sign of it now in his expression or laugh as he talked with Wilbur, but Dream could see it. The color of Tommy's eyes seemed too bright. Too energetic. He was happy, yes.
But not content.
Would he ever be?
And if not, could Dream really support him? After all, greed like that was almost as bad as what Nightmare was doing.
Dream recalled the words of the Declaration of Independance.
"Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Victory."
The pursuit of victory.
Tommy was certainly pursuing it. And Dream didn't know where it would lead him. Or even if he himself knew.
Yes, Tommy would make more trouble, that was not in doubt.
The only thing in question is whether or not he would be able to resolve it.
By himself, not likely. But as Dream looked around, he realized that Tommy was not alone. Not by a long shot.
And he knew that himself and the members of L'Manburg would be able to overcome anything as long as they worked together.
