Rache's eyes had slid shut again.
This was the third time. The fourth? She'd lost track of them, honestly.
But it was more than two at least.
Her eyes had kept sliding closed in the warm, fresh air. It smelled like grass and the first hint of the rain that was no doubt impending. It smelled good, so much better than the constant burning fireplace she'd been stuck smelling while sick.
The bench she was on was the most comfortable bench she'd sat in within this entire world. There was enough cushion to it that she wasn't bothered at all by the stone, and her exhaustion just...wanted to drag her to sleep on the spot.
She could almost ignore the chill of the rain-cooled breeze, and her head had started to spin.
It wasn't that bad, really.
Compared to her exhaustion when she was sick, this was nothing, even if she kept drifting off for a few moments at a time.
Darry ran up to her. The baby bleated, demanding attention. "Ma. Meh. Ma."
