Zack Griffin didn't speak, nor did he move. A heavy, eery tension fell across the battlefield, as the vampire lord and hunter stared one another down.
Rosa could've sworn she heard a subtle whimper rumble in Valdosk's throat. Was he terrified?
No body moved except for Seis, who casually wandered over to Rosa's side. He helped her up to her feet and began to carefully guide her away.
"How are we feeling kid?" he asked.
"I've been better," Rosa admitted.
"That's the spirit," Seis chuckled.
He glanced back towards Zack and Valdosk. "Do you wanna watch?" he asked.
Rosa nodded. This vampire had caused them all so much pain. She'd see him die if it was the last she ever did. Seis stopped and flipped her body around allowing her a perfect view as the final battle began.
As if Zack had been waiting for Rosa's extraction the hunter burst into action. The battle was over before Rosa had even realised it had begun. Both parties moved so fast, Rosa could barely even follow the blurred afterimages of their movements.
Valdosk swiped for the hunters head, but Zack actually overpowered the vampire swatting away his claws, with his bare hand. The next thing Rosa knew was the vampire's smoking, severed arm flying through the night air and the pained bellows of Valdosk filling her ears. The vampire's screams were cut short as, before his arm even hit the ground, Zack's sword arced through the night again. A thin silver-white line flashed across Valdosk's neck. Blood sprayed like a fountain from the fine wound, and the vampire's head tumbled to the gravel. Without delay the Valdosk's lifeless body collapsed to ground alongside its lost head. Instantly its flesh and blood began to slowly disperse and crumble into streams of black smoke and clumps of ash, flowing away in the wind. Zack stood over the corpse until all evidence of the vampire's existence was gone.
The hunter then vanished from sight.
Baffled, Rosa followed Seis' gesture over to the remaining forces of camaz. Zack descended upon them, like an angel of death, joining his attack force. His sword slashed and sliced with such speed and ferocity it became like a motorized saw, spraying blood into the air and tearing camaz apart chunk by chunk. He rampaged through the remaining monsters, like an unstoppable force, killing the rest of them in seconds. Rosa observed stunned and Seis laughed uncontrollably as Zack emerged drenched head to toe in crimson blood and gore, an annoyed expression on his face as he tried to shake off the monster guts. Thankfully for the hunter, like their deceased master, their corpses soon began to turn to ash and flow away leaving Zack and his sword once again spotless and smelling fresh.
Seis picked up Rosa's weight and guided her towards the rest of the group. Zack sheathed his blade upon his back and glanced around the battlefield. With a satisfied nod his grin returned. He wandered over to Seis and Rosa.
"You ok?" he asked.
Rosa nodded.
"Hectic night?" he joked.
"Leave the humour to me," Seis said. "It's not your strong suit."
"Shut it," Zack grumbled.
Rosa stared speechless at the two joyful hunters. It was over. They'd won. An uncontrollable laughter burst from her chest, that even seemed to catch both Zack and Seis by surprise. It made her body hurt like hell but she didn't care one bit.
