Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 "Rejected By A Dwarf"

In an unknown part of a castle, there sat one individual. The room itself was filled with darkness and silence. A faint light appeared in the middle of the dark room, slowly spreading across the floor. The glow grew brighter and more intense, eventually illuminating the entire room. From the shadows emerged an elegant woman, sitting in a chair while looking through documents that required the attention of the royal family.

Suddenly, a voice cut through her thoughts.

"Y-Your Majesty, w-we have lost contact with the southern front of Ruferia."

"I thought you sent reinforcements...?"

The woman, who was processing all the documents that required her attention, couldn't help but ask, pulling a pen towards herself.

"That's not it. We found another entrance in the mountain. I don't know how many people made it inside, but it's too dangerous to send more troops in there, so we've been sending messages back and forth between the two fronts."

She paused for a moment, thinking about what to do next, then spoke again.

"So far, no one has returned from the south side of Ruferia."

"I'll go there personally and sort it out, then!!"

"B-But Your Majesty, if anything happens, what will we do?"

"We can't lose any more prestige! Even Rosemary Village killed a dragon! All the other Kingdoms are treating us like a joke..."

Thud. The woman slammed her hand on her desk, then stood up angrily, raising her voice.

"Oh, for God's sake! This isn't some child's game!!!There are people dying here!!"

She stood by the door that led outside and kicked it hard enough to make a hole in it. The door now looked like a mess of jagged edges and broken pieces. The once-regal door, adorned with silver and gold decorations, now looked as if it had been carved from clay. She then quickly picked up a piece of paper and read it furiously, speaking out loud her anger in between words.

"Why won't you help us?! We're still so young… we didn't sign up to die like this! This isn't justice—this isn't right at all!!"

Finally, after reading all of it, she threw the paper across her desk into a bin with a loud thud. She turned around and stormed out into her private garden with a heavy heart and gentle rain falling upon her head. She stood before her balcony and looked at her kingdom from afar as she sighed heavily. Her kingdom was beautiful, but it was also filled with sorrow and pain. The rain started to fall harder as she looked up at the sky and softly spoke to herself in a low voice:

"When will this end..."

"I want to fight some Dragon... But if I do, I then have to enter into the revolutionary dragons of fight achonologia... which wouldn't be good at all since I'm not even at Atlas Flame's level. Even though Atlas Flame could clash with Igneel, if we even clashed, at most I could survive—but that's only because of [Immortality]."

[Ding]

["[Faith] has detected a prayer. Would you like to listen to the prayer...?"]

A blue translucent screen appeared with a blue line on it and a small window below asking if I wanted to listen to the prayer.

Huh? [Faith]? Did I always have a skill like that...? Oh, that's from my evolution. Why didn't it appear earlier? I checked my status way before I even started to fight the dragon, but these new skills never showed up.

Kamish couldn't help but ponder the sudden appearance of his newly acquired abilities. He had noticed the changes in himself, even though he was resting, waiting for Ektosh to finish his daily training. He kept hearing weird things... muffled voices could be heard in his ear even though he was on a mountain, his own territory—a plane of existence that didn't exist in the world he was from—yet here he was able to hear them clearly.

"T-Thank you…! Thank you…!"

The kids' knees hit the ground as they bowed before him and were unable to stand again, unable to control their emotions, thanking their first hero ever. Even though Kamish was nowhere near these kids, they still prayed. Kamish had no idea what to think in return, but he did know that they didn't deserve his gratitude, so he just nodded lightly.

"Thank you…"

"Thank you for letting us live…"

"Please don't leave…"

"Please don't forget us…"

More and more voices started to echo around him with each passing second. Some of them were so sweet and kind that they would make anyone cry, but some were so ridiculous they would make anyone laugh out loud. Kamish could tell how much these kids had been through just by listening to some of their words, and how they had shown so much bravery by running into danger without hesitation. He couldn't help but feel like he owed them something. He didn't know what, but right now he didn't care about anything else.

"I'm sorry... for what I did. I have no excuse for what I did... I'm sorry."

"Thank you for saving us when we were dying... thank you... thank you..."

[Prayer Has Ended]

[Faith Collected: 41]

Huh...? How do I use Faith?

Kamish couldn't help but ponder the new skill he got until the System told him how to use Faith.

Faith makes the impossible possible. If something is bound to the world's system, and someone uses Faith to make something impossible happen, it would require Faith Points. The more impossible something is or the more confined it is to a world, the more Faith Points are required to be used.

Wait!!!

This skill is perfect for blacksmithing. If I used Faith Points just once, would I be able to create weapons and armor out of materials that are otherwise impossible to forge? This is perfect. I could become the strongest blacksmith in the world with this skill.

But first... where do I even go to learn blacksmithing?

Yes, I could try to learn it on my own—as I'm a fire dragon—but if I tried with no actual knowledge of blacksmithing or forging, I wouldn't get far. At most, I would be stuck at the entrance of an uncrossable river... while blacksmithing novices are already at the stage of crossing the river and gathering wood to make a handle.

***

"Hello, where can I find the best blacksmith in this village...?"

"Over there... You see that shop to the left, with the banner hanging out? Go there."

An older man who looked to be about 40 years old responded to Kamish while gesturing toward the shop Kamish was looking for. Kamish looked at the banner that hung out of the window: The Wonderful Artistic Blacksmith. The shop's sign had a smiling old dwarven blacksmith with a hammer and anvil on it. It looked similar to a manga he had read before—That Time I Reincarnated as a Blacksmith's Son.

It was mostly about a man reincarnating as a blacksmith's son but refusing to become a blacksmith and instead becoming a knight. In his defense, the manga was trash...

The only reason it reminded him of it was because of the way the blacksmith was modeled. It just looked so similar—like they were the same thing...

"Watcha want, kid!!!"

A dwarven old man who looked to be in his 60s or 70s suddenly ran up from behind Kamish and called out to him. It was not uncommon for this shop to be crowded with people asking for repairs or advice on how to begin making weapons and armor, but this dwarf was far more excited than usual. He looked like he had just been waiting for anyone to come and ask him something... He looked like he wanted to tell someone about his hobby.

"Ah, so that's where I've seen it before…."

Kamish thought while looking at a clear but familiar great Sword

A sword resembling Gram—the sword Kamish had used to kill a dragon. He named it Gram after Rob—ahem, borrowing. The reason he took it was simple: it absorbed his mana and adapted to his pathway. It was a revolutionary way of using a sword, as if it were a part of him, his mana constantly flowing into his sword.

What made this different was the fact that a normal sword could never do this unless you met someone who was beyond extraordinary at blacksmithing, or someone who was an expert mage and at least on the S class of the modern mages of the future. Ethernano always clings to invisible things but still clings, so when you try to put mana into a sword it either breaks or just cloaks the outside of the sword like a cloak or envelope of your Ethernano or mana on the outside of the blade.

"Watcha want!!"

"H-huh?"

"...."

You're new here, aren't you?

"I'm looking for some information on blacksmithing..." Kamish's reply caused a look of surprise to appear on the dwarf's face. He began running his eyes over Kamish from head to toe as if examining him for any possible flaws. After a moment, he asked firmly:

"What kinda info you looking for?"

Kamish lowered his eyes and tried his best not to smile before answering, "I want to learn how to make weapons and armor..."

The dwarven Man nodded as if he had expected that type of answer from someone who would come into his shop with such a question. Then he started talking about his passion as if it were a duty... Kamish listened carefully and nodded in agreement with everything the dwarf said without interrupting. He seemed like an old man passionate about swords and armor... That being said, Kamish didn't know much about swords or armor, so he didn't know if he was right or wrong but he listened intently nonetheless.

"Y-you think so too, right? Swords are the best."

"The gleam that shines off a good sword is what makes it shine brightest in all this world. And when this gleam shines brightly, it gives all such an overwhelming sense of excitement that they can't help but reach for it and try to get it by any means necessary."

"But... I will not teach you."

Immortality — Rank EX | Level MAX

An artificial pseudo-immortality bestowed by the System-Linked Dragon Heart Core. Upon reaching the brink of death, or by choice either a part of Kamish's body or full Body undergoes a full temporal reversal, effectively rewinding time on his physical form. This restores all injuries, halts aging, and reconstitutes his existence in a manner akin to true immortality—though limited strictly to corporeal regeneration.

Once this final revival activates, a hidden mechanism known as [Link of ???] triggers. Kamish is instantly transported away from the battlefield, forcibly relocated to the Type-Moon universe. This event severs his continued presence in the original location, signifying the irreversible end of that phase of his existence.

This resurrection can only occur once per cooldown cycle. Divine and anti-dragon armaments bypass 50% of the skill's resistance, rendering them a grave threat despite his immortality.

[Dragon Scale Armor] | Lv.5 | Rank: A

Effect: Your natural scales form an impenetrable armor upon your body. This innate armor grants:

90% damage reduction against all non-divine attacks, physical and magical alike.

Exceptional resistance specifically against mana-based and elemental effects, reducing magical damage by an additional 30%.

Accelerated regeneration of damaged scales over time, allowing near-continuous defense.

Special: The scales grow stronger in correlation with your draconic evolution, adapting to new threats and amplifying your overall durability.

[Chaos Storm] | Lv.B | Rank: B

Effect: Weather alteration (1km radius)

Calamities: Fire hail / Ash fog / Black lightning

Terrain: [Chaotic Leylines] (disrupts enemy spellcasting)

[Mana Pathway] | Lv.Mastered | Rank: A+

Effect: Instant cast (40% faster spells)

Nullification: No feedback damage/recoil

[Unique Traits]

[Tiamat's Authority] | Rank: EX

∞ Mana during combat.

[Faith (B)]

By accomplishing the impossible or spreading one's influence across the world, one accumulates [Faith]. Unlike mana, magical energy, or aura, [Faith] is a unique and transcendent resource—something that does not exist within the normal boundaries of the world.

[Faith] allows one to achieve the impossible. If a feat cannot be accomplished through conventional mana, mage craft, magic or even Ability's or any known system of power, [Faith] becomes the force that bridges that gap—manifesting miracles where logic and laws fail.

Each act that defies reality through this method consumes [Faith]. The more revered or worshipped the individual, the more [Faith] they amass. Worship becomes currency; belief becomes power. The more one is exalted, the more they can shape the world through the impossible.

Unlock skills by gaining [Divinity A+]

[Sealed Skills]

[Nega-Genesis] | EX

A curse of origin-denial, embodying the concept of "anti-creation."

A Reality Marble-like authority that forcibly overwrites the principles of existence, severing the target from the very notion of genesis. Anything subjected to this power is reduced to a primordial state, as if it had never been born into reality. This ability denies not only physical formation but also the conceptual and historical foundation of the object. It is the absolute rejection of birth—undoing cause and effect itself. A primordial right belonging only to the Mother of All Life.

[Divine Presence] | EX

Primordial Authority as the Mother of Beasts.

A passive, all-encompassing aura intrinsic to the divine being known as [Tiamat]. All creatures classified under the "Dragon" or "Phantasmal Beast" categories instinctively recognize her as their source and submit to her will. This ability is not mental interference but rather a divine instinct—akin to a newborn recognizing its mother. Her presence alone can dominate, guide, or command dragonkin without resistance, as if fulfilling a forgotten biological imperative rooted in the Age of Gods.

[Chaos Seed A+ (Sealed) → C+]

A mysterious seed of power that feeds upon the essence of fear. The greater the dread one inspires in others, the more potent their elemental and mana capabilities become.

When a thousand creatures tremble before you—whether in battle or confrontation—you gain a 3% boost to magical effects, damage output, power, and mana capacity. This effect scales with the number of those who fear you, reaching a maximum enhancement of 25%.

The deeper the terror you sow, the more your magical prowess intensifies—transforming fear itself into a wellspring of strength.

[Fairy's Whisper] | Level 1 | B+

Through your deep bond with Fairies, Fae, and their kin, you have acquired the skill [Fairy's Whisper]. Regardless of their origin or race, if a being belongs to the Fae, Fairy, or any bloodline connected to the ethereal realms of the Fae in their respective world, they will recognize you as a friend.

This connection grants you a positive influence with such beings—opening doors to trust, aid, and communion where others see only strangers.

Effect:

Fairy, Fae, and related entities respond favorably to your presence, perceiving you as an ally rather than a threat.

Magic, spells, and rituals invoking Fairy or Fae powers gain a 15% boost in potency.

Speech and incantations involving Fae languages or runes become more effective, increasing their clarity and influence.

Buffs and magical enhancements granted by or related to Fairy beings are strengthened, improving duration and intensity by 20%.

Additionally, your affinity allows partial absorption of ambient Fairy energy, subtly replenishing your magical reserves when within Fae-inhabited environments.

[Divinity E+]

Though your worship came by chance or mistake, it is still worship—and even a god would sense that prayer.

By gaining the worship of a village destined to birth a future Immortal, and by altering the temporal fate of "E.N.D.," you have attained [Divinity E+].

[Divinity] points represent a unique resource linked to your [Faith]. Each point corresponds to a worshipper's prayer or rising renown.

With [Divinity], you can make the impossible possible, bending reality through belief. Every miracle or impossible feat demands a corresponding number of [Divinity] points, varying by difficulty.

As your renown grows and worship increases, so too does your capacity to enact miracles beyond all logic and laws.
