"Thoughts/ Text" *mid talking actions*
In an apartment, we see Monri with his black hair and eyes, as he wearing a gray sweater, gray sweatpants, and gray bunny slippers. As he is sitting in his room on his bed he faces the closet to the right of the closet on the other wall is the door and to the right of the door is a black wooden table with a black monitor, a black keyboard, a mouse, and a pc on the floor. Monri is holding a blue notebook, it's the only thing that was on his father's desk after he disappears he goes to open but the corner of the book slices his index finger, and he sees it bleeding. As Monri speaks in his usual calm voice.
Monri:why the hell is it that sharp?
He gets up, and unknown to him a drop of blood falls onto the book as it shimmers a light blue. When he opens the door he sees the hallway where the right wall is twice as long as the left one, as the left one has one white door and the right wall has two doors and at the end of the hallway to the right is the kitchen and the left is the living room and at the very back is the front door. He goes to the left door and sees the bathroom with his roommate Kayla brushing her teeth with a red toothbrush as she has long brown hair in a ponytail, and she only wearing a red jacket with two vertical white lines on each sleeve. In front of her is a white sink with a mirror on the wall and to her left is a trashcan, a toilet with a double-door white cabinet above it, and then the shower. When Monri opened the door she looked up at him since she is 5 foot 10 and Monri is 6 foot 2, she spoke in her usual bubbly and energetic tone.
Kayla:Next time knock, I could've been showering
Monri:well you told me that you were going to the store like 5 minutes earlier
She pouts.
Kayla: well it looked like it was going to rain so I decided it was better to stay inside
Monri: well next time tell or text me unless you want to repeat what happened that one time
A small blush appears on her face as he moves past her to the cabinet above the toilet he opens it and sees some extra toilet paper in there and some medical supplies, he gets a band-aid and puts it on his finger.
Monri:I'll be in my room so try not to burn some cereal this time
Kayla:HEY THAT WAS ONE TIME
A smirk appears on Monri's face as he passes Kayla and goes to his room where he opens the book. Opening it he sees on the left that the back of the cover has been written on with his father's handwriting and on the right is a strange drawing of a big triangle with a circle in it and inside the circle is a plus that is as big as the circle, it's all seem to be drawn with a black marker except the circle is red. Monri looks and reads the writing thats from his dad's handwriting.
"Hey son, I just want you to know first of all that I love and care about you, so I want you to know I didn't disappear or went out to get milk, I was killed.... I'm not going to tell you who did it, I don't want you to go after them... Son, this world is bigger and more complicated than it seems, I can't tell you what I mean since you will have to see it for yourself.... I gave you a compass that was broken when you were a child, it's not broken it points you to where you need to go, but only go when the government blocks off a part of the sea... Enough of all of that, Son I love you, please be safe, take care of your friends, and I know what you do at night..... I don't know why you do it, but I trust it's for a good reason... Goodbye, Son...."
Monri closes the notebook slightly confused but is mostly sad, this is the most important recent thing he will ever have from his dad, though he doesn't cry he rarely does, but he feels an empty feeling in his stomach like a bottomless void that can never be filled. Monri just sat there, book in his hands with that lonely empty feeling.... until his door opened and Kayla entered.
Kayla:Monri I'm hungryyyyyyy, what are you makingggggg
He gets up with a small smile on his face.
Monri: let's see what I can make for us
Monri goes to the kitchen and sees a brown wooden table and 2 brown wooden chairs with black cushions on them, on each side of the table. Beyond the table and chairs are light brown wooden counters along the wall with a cheap marble countertop with cabinets above it on the wall, in-between the counters is a gray metallic fridge and a gas stove, he looks through the cabinets and makes some spaghetti with meatballs. After he finishes making the food he plates it up in two blue bowls and puts them on the table with two water bottles, he sits down and Kayla sits down on the other side of the table and she speaks but with a lower voice.
Kayla:My parents called... they asked for you..... my mom wants to know if you can be a tutor for her friend daughter
Monri's tone lowers.
Monri: I can do it.... if you are okay with it
Kayla's voice returns to her normal tone.
Kayla:I am also my mom said that her friend will pay you, so I want you to use some of that money for chocolate
Monri:I'll think about it, last time I got chocolate you ate it all in an hour
For the rest of the meal, they kept chatting,
