Rune didn't hesitate.
"I believe it's time you knew everything," he said, raising his hand.
A glint of green light shimmered as he took off the jade ring from his finger and held it out, flat on his palm for the High Lord and everyone in the hall to see.
"This ring… isn't just any artifact. It's a spatial realm—one that belonged to my late Master," he said, his voice steady and heavy with the weight of old pain. "It contains his library, his research, his weapons… and all of his secrets. The organization that hunted and killed him did it for this. And they've chased me ever since, determined to claim it for themselves."
A murmur ran through the warriors lining the hall. Some leaned in as if expecting to see magic or danger spill from the tiny jade circle. But the High Lord simply watched Rune with a calm, unreadable expression.
"I expected as much," the High Lord finally said. "But I'm not interested in the ring."
Rune blinked in surprise. "You're not?"
