Liam pulled into the school's parking lot, the engine of his sleek black car humming softly before shutting off. The sky had begun to darken, casting long shadows over the middle school.

He sighed, rubbing his temple. This was supposed to be a simple investigation, but from the way Gojo had framed it, Liam already had a feeling it wouldn't be.

After all, when he had read the name Yuta Okkotsu, Liam knew Gojo had created a headache for him

"Alright," He muttered to himself, checking the address one last time. "Let's go and meet the Queen of Curses."

As he stepped out of the car, he flicked his wrist, feeling the faint pulse of cursed energy in the air. It was thick, suffocating even, and completely unrefined—wild, chaotic, like an open wound spilling raw power.

It led him straight to a classroom.

And the second he stepped inside, he knew he had walked into something bad.

The classroom was a disaster zone.

Desks were overturned, chairs flung across the room, and three students were cowering against the wall—three boys, their faces pale as death. But the real problem wasn't them.

It was the thing floating in the air.

A monstrous, grotesque figure loomed over them, its form twisted and bloated, veins bulging under its pale, grayish skin. Its body was warped as if something far too large was crammed into it, its long arms twitching with unsettling spasms.

Its face, however, was the worst.

Once human, now barely recognizable, it had hollow, dark eyes and jagged teeth, but most terrifying was the way its lips curled into a sad, almost loving smile.

"Don't... bully... Yuta..."

The voice was deep and broken, but undeniably feminine.

The cursed spirit lunged.

Liam's Sharingan spun to life, red and black swirling like a storm.

Kamui!

The bullies vanished in an instant, sucked into the void just as Rika's massive claws came crashing down. The desks where they stood exploded into a storm of splinters, wood flying everywhere like tiny missiles.

But the boys?

Gone from the room. Safe from Rika. Just knocked out and out of the way.

Liam let out a slow whistle, hands in his pockets. "Damn. Overprotective much?"

Rika's grotesque, twisted face snapped toward him. Her glowing eyes locked onto his, filled with rage.

"You... too?"

And then she lunged.

The Queen of Curses shot forward like a nightmare unleashed, claws stretching, body twisting, her very form warping as she reached for him. The walls cracked from the force of her movement. Her scream shook the air.

But she hit nothing.

Her massive claws phased right through Liam as if he weren't even there. Like a ghost.

He grinned, amused. "Cute. But you're gonna have to try harder than that."

Rika screeched, her frustration twisting her already monstrous voice into something even more distorted. "No one... hurts... Yuta!"

Liam rolled his eyes, letting out a dramatic sigh. "Oh, come on, I haven't even done anything yet. You're gonna give a guy a complex."

His eyes shifted slightly, observing the small, trembling figure in the corner of the room.

Yuta Okkotsu.

The boy was painfully thin, almost frail-looking, with messy black hair that stuck out in all directions. His pale skin made the dark bags under his wide, fearful eyes even more prominent. His uniform was slightly oversized, his posture slouched, shoulders curled inward as if trying to shrink into himself.

His entire body was shaking.

Liam exhaled through his nose. This kid is a total wreck.

With a flick of his fingers, the air ripped open.

A towering, skeletal blue arm burst into existence around him—Susanoo's first form. Its massive fingers curled like a vice, and then—BOOM!—they snapped shut around Rika's twisted body before she could even react.

The Queen of Curses shrieked. A horrible, ear-splitting sound. Her monstrous form thrashed, twisted, and fought against the crushing grip, but it didn't budge.

Liam's hold was unshakable.

"Now, now," He said, voice smooth, amused. "I told you, I'm not your enemy. Actually, I'd say we're about to be great friends."

Yuta flinched. "Wh-What?"

Liam's lips curled into a smile, but his eyes? Sharp. Calculating. He crouched slightly, stretching a hand toward the trembling boy.

"I'm here to take you somewhere fun."

Yuta's wide eyes darted between Liam, Rika—who was still thrashing helplessly—and the unconscious bullies, who had just... vanished.

He looked completely, utterly lost.

"I... I don't understand," He whispered, voice barely holding together.

Liam's grip on Rika didn't loosen. But his smile? It softened. Just a little.

"You will," He promised. "But right now, you've got two choices."

He tilted his head toward the writhing curse.

"One: you come with me, and I make sure this—" He gave Rika a small shake, making her screech in protest, "—doesn't end up accidentally tearing someone apart."

Yuta winced.

"Or two: you stay here, and we both pretend I didn't just watch your 'bodyguard' nearly turn three kids into a crime scene. But I don't think you'll like what happens next."

Yuta's face twisted with guilt. His hands clenched into white-knuckled fists.

"I... I don't want to hurt people," He whispered.

Liam nodded, approving. "Then come with me."

Yuta hesitated. Just for a second. Then—his small hand reached out and grabbed Liam's.

Instantly, Rika froze.

Her grotesque form shuddered, flickered—and then melted. She sank back into Yuta's shadow like a ghost, her monstrous energy fading into a soft hum.

Liam let go.

The moment she was gone, he stood up straight, then promptly messed up Yuta's already messy hair.

"Atta boy." He grinned. "You just made the best decision of your life."

Yuta blinked up at him, still confused. Still wary.

Liam just grinned wider. "Trust me. Where are we going? Way more interesting than middle school."

Yuta hesitated. "And the... um..." He gestured vaguely. "Those boys?"

Liam waved a hand lazily. "Oh, them? They're fine. Just in a little timeout. I'll toss them back when we're gone."

Yuta stared at him. Like he wasn't sure if he should be relieved or terrified.

Liam just chuckled. "You'll get used to it."

With that, Liam threw an arm around Yuta's shoulder, yanking the kid in like they were old buddies.

"Alright, kid," He said, steering him toward the door with zero room for argument. "Time to drop you off to that smug, white-haired menace."

His grin sharpened.

"And believe me— I've got a few choice words for him too."
