(Third Person POV)
[Ashford, The Reach]
Septon Barth walked inside a room where Lords Ashford and Tyrell were standing over a table, looking at the map of Westeros, planning their next move.
"I have heard that House Selmy sent a box with Vaegon's hand." Barth said seriously, "Do you two know anything about this?"
Lord Ashford looked at him, "What? No." He said, "Vaegon? Maester Vaegon? Why would we do that?"
Lord Tyrell nodded, "That boy has done nothing." He said, "Why would we be so foolish?"
"It was done, regardless." Barth said with a serious look, "And I am sure that King Jaehaerys will retaliate. There is no doubt in my mind that Balerion will take flight...."
"There is nothing better than to move towards the Stormlands, near the Storm Beast's territory." Lord Tyrell said, "That way, Balerion will steer clear. I am more than sure that Prince Baelon will not risk waking that thing up, sparking a risky fight."
"I agree." Lord Ashford said, "If we wait for the Dornish reinforcements, we can head into the Kingswood and demand the King to destroy the Trinity. While we're there, we can take the outposts that have Trinity worshippers as well. There are Storm Shrines located all over."
"The Stormlanders are dealing with that at the moment." Barth said as he walked up to the table, "Our top priority is to have the King renounce the Trinity. That is all we should care about, to dismantle that cult at all costs."
"The Dornish apparently have members of the Red Cult on their side." Lord Tyrell said, "If they make a move, they can make a similar dent to Drakken's power as they did be-"
"It is too risky." Barth said, "What we need to do is to do something different than that. The last thing we want is those weapons of his to be deployed. And according to my sources, he has taken to the sidelines, watching House Targaryen deal with this."
"Even so, House Targaryen has dragons." Lord Ashford said, "Aside from avoiding Balerion by heading to the Stormlands, how are we going to combat the others? There is only so many Scorpions we can deploy."
"We have House Baratheon base Scorpions at a promising Fort, at a strategic point in the land." Barth said, "That way, we can lure some dragons and wound them, showing the Crown that we are serious."
"Wound them?" Lord Ashford asked, "Are you sure of this?"
Lord Tyrell looked at him, "Better wound than kill one and invoke the full wrath of Balerion and Vermithor, disregarding the Storm Beast." He said, "The last thing we need is a massive storm that will take everything in its path."
"What has House Hightower done?" Barth asked, "Have you called them forth?"
Lord Tyrell nodded, "Yes." He said, "They are on their way at the moment, however.....they have advised us to reconsider. Apparently, Lord Hightower has built an amicable relationship with Maegelle Drakkengard during her time in the Citadel. His wife likes her apparently."
"You don't think those Hightower cunts are Trinity?" Lord Ashford asked
"I don't think so." Lord Tyrell said
"We need the Hightower manpower." Barth said, "And their Scorpions."
Lord Tyrell nodded, "Yes."
The door then opened and a guard rushed inside, "Lord Tyrell!" He called out, "This is urgent! A force of 5,000 strong is approaching!!"
Lord Ashford scowled, "What?! Whose banners?!"
"House Rosby and House Targaryen!" he exclaimed, "Lord Rosby is leading them!"
"How did they sneak up on us?!" Lord Tyrell said, "What were our scouts doing?! Ready the men!"
Barth sighed, "Gods be good...."
"Let them keep us safe..."
*****************
"Lord Rosby!" Septon Barth said as he was on his horse, "Reconsider what you are doing!"
The Tyrell and Ashford men had rallied in response to the Rosby army arriving, however a parley was called for by Septon Barth, who knew that House Rosby were
Lord Rosby sat on his horse, in front of his army, as he spat on the ground, "I did." He said, "While i don't agree with the Trinity and its blasphemy....it is a crime to touch a hair on any Targaryen, Barth."
Barth narrowed his eyes, "You just called them blasphemous." He said, "The King and Queen knelt for Drakken, they turned to his false religion. That is a sin, Lord Rosby."
"Jaehaerys Targaryen is our King, Septon Barth." Lord Rosby said seriously, "I don't give a shit what he did, he has dragons and Balerion has taken flight. Anyone who dares touch a member of the Royal Family, maester or not, will be bathed in flames. And anyone who even dares revolt against them.....they are fools. It is better someone else than myself.....better you imbeciles than us....that is the truth."
"Are you this crude, Lord Rosby?" Lord Tyrell asked
"Lord Tyrell, you have made a grave mistake." Lord Rosby said, "You think that because the King has been humbled by Drakken that he cannot lay our castles ablaze like nothing? Just because His Grace chooses not to, it doesn't mean that he cannot!"
"Enough of this." Barth said, "We have more than you. I suggest you surrender, Lord Rosby. We do not want to slaughter the lot of you."
"What you want is to add my men to your forces." Lord Rosby said, "But I assure you, Former Hand, that these men are more willing to die for their King, no matter the mistakes he's made for the sake of their very lives.....for their family's sake....."
"Our Gods are what protect us, Lord Rosby." Barth continued, "The King is but-"
"The King is the King." Lord Rosby said as he spat on the ground again, "And trust me when I say this; you don't want themto come down upon you. So I suggest that you surrender yourself before Caraxes or Balerion descends shortly."
"You are a fool, Rosby!" Lord Tyrell spat, "I will make sure to send your head back to the Capital in a box!"
"Let us discuss this longer!" Barth said, "There is no need for bloodshed now. Join us, Lord Rosby!"
"You can try to sever my head, Lord Tyrell..." Rosby said, "But the one whose head will be returned in a box will be yours."
"Mark my words."
