On certain days, they often gathered around Baird, sighing over the past, looking back on lost glory, and getting drunk beside the campfire, where Baird, compared to the host of the feast, seemed more like a mascot, a reason for the Heroes to come together.
These reunions even included those who Baird had killed on the battlefield, many of whom admired Baird's achievements and bravery more than Baird's own friends did, in the Great Plain, where mortal hatreds were cast aside, Heroes merely cherished each other.
This time, when Kars, who had founded a Kingdom in the far North, visited Baird, he was shocked to discover that the Hero's appearance had changed almost entirely.
There was a new light in Baird's gaze.
