There are so many things that Mo Mo can promote—the character of staying clean, a family full of love from childhood, a bright and cheerful personality that's perfectly aligned with official promotional directions.
And Wu Mu, with his overly laid-back character, entangled in scandals and unresolved history with sponsors, not to mention his yet-to-be-exposed family and past.
If these were revealed, the public might reverse their opinions, but the officials may not like it; it's too dark, too gloomy.
Some aspects can't even be thought of deeply, unable to withstand scrutiny.
Thinking deeply, having suffered domestic abuse from his father since childhood, why didn't the government step in? Was there a neglect in government duties?
Being bullied at school, what did the teachers and school do to respond? Did they try to resolve it?
