CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT : FIGHT
ARIEL'S POV
I stayed still for minutes in Trynn's hard grip, his fingers squeezing the air out of me slowly as his companions contemplated whether to kill me or not.
The night air sent chills across my skin as I listened to my heartbeat—louder, faster than any music I'd ever heard. I couldn't fathom dying at the hands of these beasts.
The stillness of the air made the demons' voices even more terrifying, their loud tones clanging through my ears.
"She's a were-demon," Trynn spat, "cursed by demons and werewolves alike."
The elderly demon stepped closer, shaking the earth beneath its feet. "You can't eat it! Her powers can free us from Ragal's imprisonment. Can't you see this, Trynn?" his voice thundered with rising anger.
Does she look like she has any powers? He wriggled me in his grasp roughly.
Clearly, the demon holding me captive didn't care about my powers or how I could be useful to the pack. It only wanted to swallow me whole.
