Chapter 20
**Lucien's POV**
"Hey, Diana, I can't see well. I think it's the ability of the demon I killed the other day, and I have to fight Enzo Cataldo tomorrow morning," I said as I stepped closer and put my hand around her waist.
"You can't see, yet you're this touchy? You little bad boy," she replied, gently removing my hand from her waist. "Let me try something," she said as she waved her hand over my eyes, her fingers glowing blue. Then, she leaned over and placed her forehead on mine.

* A Few Moments Later *
She finally leaned back, placing her hand on my head.
"My Lord, I can't do anything about it. It seems the demon's ability was still activated at the moment of his death. But not to worry—dead things don't control mana, as you know, so it will eventually wear off," she said happily.
"I don't think you should be this happy when I literally can't see with my eyes," I said with an exasperated expression. "And you actually seem more mature tonight. Is everything alright?"
"I'm fine, my Lord," she replied. "And you can still see with your feet via your shockwave pulse ability, right?"
"Diana, I'm not your Lord. We're equals. And yes, I can see—or should I say, make out shapes in black and white."
"How can you say something like that to a mere lost maiden like me? Other people of your status would constantly take advantage of me, but you've shown me nothing but love and care. Thank you, Lord Lucien. I really appreciate your kindness, but we can never be equals," she said with a serious expression.
"You know what? I think we should sleep. My brain is fried from the level of your vocabulary," I said as I pulled her close and gave her a hug.
"I'll go back to my room now. Byeee."

### NEXT MORNING
"Wake up, Lucien. I'm hungry. Call the inn owner—I want to eat."
I woke up to a fifteen-year-old girl crying while pulling on my arm.
"Ok, ok, ok, wait! I'll get the inn owner," I said as I put on my shirt and ran downstairs to get some food for her.
"Good morning, Mr. Birch. Could you prepare enough breakfast for six people?"
"Certainly, young Lord. Give me a few minutes, and it will be delivered up to your room," he replied with a respectful expression and a bow.
"Ok, thank you, Mr. Birch," I replied as I ran back up to the room to my teary-eyed, downcast, and hungry companion. Her eyes lit up when I walked in.
"When are we getting breakfast?" she asked with a happy expression.
"You'll have to wait for a few minutes," I said with a sad expression as we huddled together. "I don't want to fight hungry..."
I was still talking when I heard a knock on the door.
"Young Lord, may I come in?" asked Mr. Birch from the other side.
"Come in, Mr. Birch," I replied in an excited tone.
The door swung open to reveal six servants, each carrying a tray of food and drinks. They slowly walked into the room and set the trays on the dining table at the far end of the room.
"Thank you. You guys can leave now."
"Now, pretty lady, let's go and stuff ourselves full," I said to my already excited and drooling companion.

* A Few Moments Later *
Diana lay asleep on the bed after gorging herself on four of the six servings (she has quite an appetite for the beautiful flower she is). Normally, we would eat equal amounts, but I didn't want to be too full since Enzo Cataldo is no joke.
I washed up, dressed in new clothes, and headed to the town square.
A boy with auburn hair was fighting with a brown-haired boy, who dominated the first few minutes of the fight. Then, the auburn-haired boy figured out his ability and defeated him with a single punch to the face.
I have to admit, defeating an awakened with one punch as an unawakened is crazy work. After their fight, it was my turn to step into the arena.
---
Enzo was already making his way to the arena, fully clad in armor. As he walked, his armor clanged with each step, and the crowd fell into silence.
He climbed into the arena and stared down at everyone below him. As the announcer intoned my name, I made my way through the crowd, swords tucked at each side of my waist—blind, yet able to see.
As I stepped onto the stage, I felt a wave of pressure. *This boy is truly strong.*
"About time you got here, demon!" he shouted with a smirk on his face.
*He's annoying,* I thought to myself...
